EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW www.adriaticluxuryhotels.com

Anthony Melchiorri with Travel Channel filming crew and his hosts

Anthony told us, in the midst of a busy schedule, shooting on Adriatic Luxury Hotels’ premises for Travel Channel’s special. While in Dubrovnik Anthony Melchiorri showcased Croatia’s best hotel collection – with Adriatic Luxury Hotels as a highlight – Hotel Excelsior, Hotel Bellevue and Villa Sheherezade, which was his personal favourite: ‘For a taste of the good life, I would stay at this luxury villa in Dubrovnik with a cliff-top location overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Marvel at the amazing sea views from the cascading stone terrace or the private beach below.’ (travelchannel.com)

During several days of a busy schedule of filming around Dubrovnik, Anthony and his team managed to relax and chat in Hotel Excelsior over a special dinner which was prepared by their host – Adriatic Luxury Hotels. During this dinner Anthony shared some of his tips in the hospitality business and his impressions of Dubrovnik.

What makes a true 5-star hotel? “The secret to running a successful 5-star hotel is not only the location, design, and great service; it is also about the attitude of each employee working within the hotel. If you don’t have passionate people working within the hotel, you won’t get exceptional service. But, luckily, you have all these Anthony Melchiorri at Abacus Piano Bar in Hotel Excelsior Anthony Melchiorri Twitter page.

qualities, and believe me, besides hosting Trip of a Lifetime, I will be a good ambassador for promoting Croatian tourism.”

Did Croatia meet your expectations? ‘It actually exceeded them. From the moment I stepped out of the plane, I felt that Croatia was special. It is truly the undiscovered gem of the Mediterranean and I hope you will keep it this way - simple and authentic. Today’s travellers are in search of genuine experiences, and surely Dubrovnik has it all – an authentic, welcoming approach, people, food,

nature and the beauty of the city.’

What would be your suggestion for Dubrovnik’s first timers? ‘Save time to explore the Old City; it’s amazing what you can find in one of the cobbled alleys. I personally was quite happy to find a small shop with original Croatian ties (cravats) and bought one more to enhance my collection.’ Upon leaving, Anthony left us with a promise:

‘I can’t wait to return to Dubrovnik with my wife and three girls to have my trip of a lifetime!’
