We put on make up, brush our hair, choose what to wear - all to improve our appearance. QBSEE®, the latest Italian eyewear brand, designed by Adriano Design, responds to this desire in an entirely new way, using the same tools that a good plastic surgeon would employ - mapping every part of the human face in order to understand, in matematical values, those features that have always represented universally venerated beauty standars, that need to be modified and how.
COM’È FATTO. L’occhiale QBSEE® non viene disegnato, ma generato. Attraverso un algoritmo, basato su una serie di funzioni matematiche che ne determinano la forma grazie a delle variabili che vengono inserite automaticamente dal software in funzione della lettura dei “punti notevoli” dei “volti tipo” delle persone. Il risultato è un occhiale dalle forme inusuali, che indossato contribuisce ad una lettura dei caratteri del volto più vicini a quelli matematicamente riconosciuti come perfetti, aurei, proporzionati. Quindi un occhiale che rende più belli. HOW IT IS MADE. QBSEE® are not designed by a human hand. Instead, they are generated thorugh an algorithm based upon mathematical functions which determine their contour. A software automatically inserts variables based on the mapping of the faces’ significant points. The results of the process are eyeglasses with an unusual shape, leading, when worn, to a mapping of the face’s features which are closer to those mathematically acknowledged as perfect. GEOMETRIA (APPARENTEMENTE) IMPOSSIBILE. Una inedita cerniera formata da due quadrati inscritti caratterizza ulteriormente QBSEE®, che con una geometria apparentemente impossibile stupisce con una cinematica funzionale e flessibile. Tutto il processo di produzione è pensato per avere luogo esclusivamente in Italia. Ecco quindi una cerniera per le aste che non prevede né saldature né viti, per ridurre le ore di lavorazione uomo e ottenere un occhiale artigianale di qualità assoluta. SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE GEOMETRY. An innovative, double-squared hinge is a main feature of QBSEE® eyeglasses. An apparently impossible geometry with surprisingly flexible kinematics. The entire production process is conceived to take place only in Italy. That is why the hinges have no weld joints nor screws, allowing for a reduction of the working hours and for an absolute artisanal quality eyeglasses.

The innovative impact of QBSEE® eyeglasses in the eyewear industry is certified by two registered patents, one concerning the eyeglasses’ mathematical generation process which corrects the design of the face, and the other concerning the doublesquared hinge, which is obtained only through the bending of the metal sheet.

QBSEE® è stato ideato da Adriano Design. Adriano Design è lo studio fondato dai fratelli Davide e Gabriele Adriano. Nato nel 1997, lo studio Adriano Design ha collaborato con importanti realtà nazionali ed internazionali. Laureati in Architettura, sono stati docenti presso il Politecnico di Torino, e Guest Professors presso prestigiose Università nazionali ed internazionali. Hanno ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti tra cui il Compasso d’Oro ADI. Adriano Design studio has been founded by Davide and Gabriele Adriano brothers. It was established in 1997 and has worked in collaboration with prominent companies at home and worldwide. Graduated in Architecture and served as professors at the Turin Politecnico and currently Guest Professors at some prestigious Universities, both national and international. They have been awarded a number of acknowledgements among which the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI.
