According to the Centers for Disease Control and Preven on (CDC), regular physical ac vity is vital for healthy aging and plays an important role in maintaining health, wellͲbeing, and quality of life. It can help delay, prevent, or manage many costly chronic diseases faced by adults and those living with disabili es. Physical ac vity can also reduce the risk of premature death. Adults who cannot meet physical ac vity guidelines (150 minutes of moderateͲintensity aerobic ac vity a week) should be as ac ve as their abili es or condi ons allow. During this me of where it is more difficult to get out, many are more likely to be inac ve. We have also learned a great deal about how our diet can reduce risks associated with many chronic condi ons. One diet in par cular is the MIND diet ʹ a combina on of the Mediterranean and DASH diet. Research has shown the MIND diet can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, demen a, and several other disease. Remember….when you eat well, you feel well. When you eat awful, you feel awful! So, how do you begin? We are fortunate to have so many great resources available in our community and at our finger ps.
