Local farmers are the heroes at Harvest Market Some people like to drop brand nd names. At Harvest Market, we like to drop the names of our farmer-heroes, s, the more than 50 local producers whose 270 items we proudly sell in our store. Superheroes, our local farmers are deemed ‘local’ if their products are made, grown or raised within 100 miles from our store in Hockessin, Del. We believe that the fairest trade is the most local one. Always buzzing with activity, ity, Walt’s Swarmbustin’ Honey in West Grove, Pa. is nestled in the rolling hills of Chester County, 10 miles down the road from our store. Walt’s Raw Honey is a staple item at Harvest Market, along with his golden bee pollen. Pollinator health is more important than ever, and we applaud every natural beekeeper and pollinator promoter out there. Spring Thyme Herbs grows fresh and certified organic culinary herbs all year long in their greenhouses and outdoors. This family enterprise has been farming organically for more than 25 years. Peaceful Valley Farm grows a range of vibrant produce, including “some of the best broccoli and cauliflower our staff and customers have ever had!”

Farming is a family affair at Peaceful Valle Valley Farm, with husband Aaron, w wife Rachel and family members at the helm of the horse-drawn plow. A Delaware native, tomato grower Barry Trimmer has been in the hydroponic tomato growing business for the last 18 years. From his greenhouse in Dover, he grows around 900 plants, iincluding three varieties, as part of hhis one-man enterprise. T.A. Farm’s Palmer Family has been farming for five generations now, having raised and processed turkeys for more than 30 years in Wyoming, Delaware. This family business even grows their own feed, and never gives any growth enhancer or medication to their turkeys. Located in the backyard of the world’s mushroom capital, Harvest Market is especially honored to carry a variety of certified organic mushrooms grown with rich compost by Mother Earth Organic Mushrooms in Landenberg, Pa. Our wildly popular grab and go meals from the Harvest Market Kitchen feature seasonal and fresh ingredients from our local farmers and producers, allowing you to support our local growers while also enjoying the delicious foods you love!
