MAXIMIZING ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS PROGRAM (MAPS)

Want to learn the best hacks from experienced upperclassmen? Get study tips, test-taking strategies and time-management skills from our trained peer coaches.

TIP! Active participants typically boost their GPA by half a point, earning on average 3.3 or higher.

WELCOMING COMMUNITIES

Diversity and inclusion programs are designed to provide support to students from underrepresented groups in the engineering discipline. Engage ME! supports multicultural students with select community involvement and professional networking opportunities. Also, the WE Engage program provides female students a specialized network with professional women engineers.

TIP! Start your future early with special access to professional organizations, including Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers.

LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Want to be known as “top talent” by employers? Keep your eye on the Leadership Academy. Each fall, up to 25 sophomores and juniors are selected to participate. They go on to learn from service projects, direct interaction with industry professionals and more, all designed to create toptalent leadership competencies.

TIP! Gain exclusive access to industry executives in this program.

FRESHMAN LEARNING COMMUNITY

Typically half of all engineering freshmen choose to live and learn together in this community. As a participant, you’ll enjoy targeted development activities, behind-the-scenes site visits to local companies, complimentary tutoring in the residence hall and more.

TIP! Space is limited, so apply early.

SENIOR DESIGN PROGRAM

As your capstone, you’ll apply your math, science and engineering training to solve actual industry challenges.

TIP! An extraordinary 80% of our senior design projects are industry sponsored which gives our students an amazing opportunity to directly interact with industry professionals and develop unmatched project execution skills!

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our pros are here to help you with technical resume writing, job shadowing, mock interviews, internships and networking opportunities. Participants have received five-star employer feedback, including, “focused, smart, professional, assertive and all around impressive.”

TIP! Get the scoop on co-ops and internships, which enhance your real world experience and employment opportunities.
