USEFUL INFORMATION

University Hostel is provided only for First year and from Second year. Aspirom Overseas Education will facilitate a 5 starred ambiance private hostel with an affordable cost (Private hostel Government Owned Property).

Student hostel accommodation is included ONLY for the first year in the Packaged fees and AMU provides students a place in shared rooms; 2 or 3 students per room, depending on availability at the time of your arrival. A toilet and shower room is provided between every 2-4 rooms. The accommodation is self catering and there are 2-4 kitchens available on the each floor.

Cafes are also available in academic buildings, with low cost food. There are also many different types of private restaurants and cafes around the university.

Heating, lighting and water are all provided within the AMU accommodation as part of the fee and students should expect to spend on standard food, phone calls and transportation approximately 500+USD per month. Private apartment are available commercially for students perhaps at an extra USD 200-400 per month in shared apartment.

Transportation

AMU is located in the heart of the city so most of the students walk during autumn and spring, with it taking approximately 21 min, 10 min and 15 min walking to the various hostel sites. There are also bus stations to the AMU Campuses. Clinical classes are in different location in AMU, most are within walking distance.

Accomodation

Student hostel accommodation and private accommodation is provided at cost for Azerbaijan Medical University students. There are also many different types of private restaurants available on campus and in the city to suit all tastes.

Insurance

Student will be provided with limited medical insurance cover for Baku City, Students and their visitors however, are advised to make their own additional arrangements for travel, extra medical, repatriation, personal possession and third party cover before they travel and for the period of their stay.

Important Notice:

You should check with your own doctor what immunisation your should have and ensure that you have completed the relevant courses before you leave your country. All students will have a yearly medical and must pass the HIV Test to renew their student visa.

Attendance

Students must attend 100% of the classes and to rework and repay any subjects if missed and failed.

Azeri Language

While the main programme is taught in English, students do receive Azeri language tuition so they can convers with patients in their practical periods.

Class Size & Start Dates

5 to 12 students per group depending on the activity. Plus full auditorium lectures. Course start dates approximately enter before September end.

Equipment & Protective Clothing

Students will need to provide their own clean white lab coats, surgical suits, shoes, stethoscope and tonometer.

Books

Students can buy their own books.

Medical Visa

Based on the offer letter that AMU provides the applicant, the applicant should apply to the Azerbaijan Embassy to collect their student visa. Applicants should check with the Azerbaijan embassy of his/her country for the additional documents that provided along with the AMU offer letter Aspirom Overseas Education office will assist you for your study visa in India as well as in Azerbaijan, Baku.

All fees are prepaid before the start of each academic year. first year fees are payable in full after receival of offer letter and before issuance of visa invitation letter.
