Hello, I am Aditya Kanade, a recent Architectural graduate from Rachana Sansad’s Academy of Architecture, Mumbai.
For me, architecture is more than just a physical form; it is a medium through which spaces communicate with their users, creating profound and memorable experiences. My passion lies in understanding and enhancing this dialogue. I firmly believe that the core of design is problem-solving, with the goal of making lives easier, more efficient, and ultimately better through innovative and thoughtful architectural solutions.
Throughout my academic journey and hands-on projects, I have developed a keen interest in sustainable and human-centric design. My thesis project, which involved transforming an old offshore oil rig into a state-of-the-art marine research facility, reflects my commitment to sustainability and adaptive reuse. This project aimed to breathe new life into old structures while addressing contemporary needs, showcasing my ability to think creatively and practically.
My approach to design is holistic, considering not only the aesthetics but also the functionality, sustainability, and emotional impact of a space. I strive to create environments that resonate with their occupants, fostering a sense of belonging and well-being. I am adept at using various design tools and technologies to bring my ideas to life, always keeping the end-users’ experience at the forefront of my process.
As I embark on my professional journey, I am eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals who share my passion for innovative design and sustainability. I look forward to contributing to projects that challenge conventional thinking and push the boundaries of what architecture can achieve.

From The twentieth century up to the present time, the world appetite for energy has constantly grown including hydro-energy, thermal energy, electrical energy, and petroleum. Thus the supply of onshore and shallow water crude oil deposits accumulated, there was a look towards the ocean. Several years back there was much debate on the effects of offshore oil extraction and its impacts to the marine environment, this is called for the decommissioning of oil platform. In other words, taking into consideration geographic opportunity of the platforms used in oil business, we can change these industrial giants into the facilities for overcoming the consequences of the oil pollution. In this way humanity provides back to nature to enable the coming generations of people enjoy the beauty of the natural world.
The huge number of decommissioned offshore platforms consume huge amounts of energy to dismantle each year, and at the same time have a huge impact on the surrounding environment during dismantling. The coral reefs amd fish schools that originally gathered under the platform during service have lost their living area. This is followed by damage to the bedrock, oil spills and other accidents that have a huge impact on the marine ecology.

During my internship with Studio KE Architects in Mumbai, I had the privilege of working on a weekend bungalow project in Tarapur. This project was an exploration of creating a serene and luxurious retreat that harmonizes with its natural surroundings. The design focused on blending modern architectural elements with the tranquil landscape, providing a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. Attention was given to incorporating sustainable practices and materials to enhance the bungalow’s eco-friendliness while ensuring comfort and elegance. My contributions included 3D visualization to bring design concepts to life, photography to document progress and outcomes, and the development of technical and working drawings to ensure precise and effective execution of the design. This project enriched my understanding of residential design and allowed me to contribute to a space that offers relaxation and rejuvenation away from the urban hustle.
