Under the expert guidance of Prof. Paul J. Armstrong, this project delves into the design of mixed-use skyscrapers with a strong focus on systems integration and sustainability. The primary objective is to reimagine urban habitats and infrastructures, particularly within riverfront contexts.Drawing upon extensive expertise in highrise structures, the project emphasizes the creation of spaces that are not only architecturally compelling but also enhance community interaction and aesthetic appeal. The design philosophy champions simplicity, minimalism, and elegance, ensuring that each structure seamlessly integrates with its environment while fostering a cohesive urban experience. This endeavor aims to demonstrate how innovative design can bridge the gap between urban density and environmental sustainability, ultimately contributing to more vibrant and resilient urban communities.

Abstract

Project was based in South africa. Design challenge was about climate and having a bungalow to be set within a part of huge plot. Design idea evolved through experimentations with concept of simplicity and minimalism in design. Concept evolved creating modules which are introvert in nature yet connected with around a central space. Bunglow is divided into 2 blocks connected by welcoming courtyard having family spaces at one side connected with swimming pool and other part of bungalow having guest bedrooms with vistas. I was fortunate to be part of design as well as execution drawings initiation process as part of ofce (studio).Project demanded a temple and lawn space which eventually became a part of master plan for future expansion.
