-ABOUTOver the years, man has through various means/ styles/methods provided shelter for himself. These methods have effect on both man and the environment. Architecture is a profession tasked with the responsibility of conceiving design solutions with man and the environment in mind.

In other words, Architecture is the science and art of forming space; with structures, to meet human need and respond to human behaviour while still taking the environment into consideration.

As a student architect, I continuously seek opportunities that allow me proffer solutions with the knowledge of my responsibility as an architect while still learning the nitty gritty of the profession.

PROJECT NAME: Mass-in BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Residential YEAR: 2023 The brief of this project was to design a 3 bedroom duplex for a client of my choice. My client was an architect; Chris Precht. Since the design must respond to the user need, I provided a private studio space for him on the first floor. Also, paying attention to his design philosophy; giving space back to nature, I provided a courtyard primarily for vegetation and ventilation as he is also a proponent of the use of natural light Softwares used are: AutoCAD, Revit and Lumion

PROJECT NAME: Future way model school BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Institutional; Education YEAR: 2023 While I was required to use knowledge gained from previous studios to design, the main principle I was instructed to use from the brief was grid system and the concept of modular architecture while still paying attention to the regulations, requirements, guidelines that governs the design of a nursery and primary school.

Bright colors were used in the design of the school building as they help to stimulate learning.

Red, orange and yellow were particularly used as they encourage learning, focus, awareness and alertness. Attention was paid to the entrance/approach view to encourage pupils to attend the school regularly

PROJECT NAME: Unilag shuttle bus urban terminal BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Institutional; transportation YEAR: 2024 The goal of this project is to replan and redesign the current Unilag bus park which has been identified to be one of the unplanned spots that has blighted the university at variance with the status of “University of first choice”. Landscaping and cityscape elements are integral part of the design process.

Solutions are provided with the SDGs and outcome of COP28 in mind. Some of the strategic solutions proposed are the provision of covered waiting area for the passengers and provision of green areas on the site to help with carbon capture which in turn reuces carbon poisoning which is a problem due to the bus emmission of carbonoxide

PROJECT NAME: Home After Crisis; HAC BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Residential YEAR: 2023 The goal was to design a low cost building, incremental, modular and upgradable housing solution for population disrupted by violence in rural areas of North-East Nigeria.

Participants were required to propose a core module and four alternatives to the core modules for different family size (Multi-generation, polygamus, extended and small family).

My team consists of student architects including myself...I was privileged to be the team leader.

I shared the work amongst the team members to make the work fast. I was particularly involved in the module development ,working drawing and 3d modeling of the extended family module.

PROJECT NAME: Building in the Wood(3d visualization) BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Residential YEAR: 2023

The main aim of the problem is to improve visualization skill.

This was a rendering challenge organized by the Society of Architecture Students; in unilag.

The building model was done in sketchup. I modelled the terrain and rendered it with 3Ds max and corona 9 respectively.

PROJECT NAME: The boys apartment (3d visualization) BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Residential YEAR: 2023 In a bid to learn how lighting works in 3ds Max and Corona 9, I (following a tutorial video), modelled and rendered this living space in 3ds Max and Corona respectively.

The design is a living space with an open kitchen

PROJECT NAME: Working drawing BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Residential YEAR: 2023 This was a freelance job. I was given a pdf file to reproduce the drawing in Revit. After that was done, the client(also an architect) gave 3 sketches; other variations he would like to propose to his client for the front elevation. That invariably affected the roof plan and other elevations of the building hence the changes was accounted for in the design

PROJECT NAME: Church Refurbishment BUILDING TYPOLOGY: Religious CLIENT: TACN Igbein Area YEAR: 2023 I was tasked with the responsibility of redesigning the church altar in such a way that it looks modern (the previous altar design has been there for well over 30years), while still paying attention to the doctrinal constraint of the general church leaders.

The previous one was small hence it accomodates few ministers and presbyteries during combined services hence the reason for the semicircular extension freeing up the space on the altar.

The pastor wanted the background to be charcoal black so everything going on, on the altar can come out well during live stream.

I also proffered solution to the toilet issue that was present for a long time.

The toilet being a general toilet for both male and female overtime became bad and people find other means/spot for easing themselves in the church compound. I proposed that the toilet should be degeneralised; having one for male, another for female and anohte for the ministers and it was done as proposed. Some details were also given on site to the professioners as to how to go about somethings.
