Hey Key Clubbers! Welcome to the 2023-2024 term! I’m Steven Cao, your Vice President, and I would like to welcome all our new and returning members! With a new term comes new goals and opportunities, and I know we can reach new service records! For those of you who may be new to the club, I have a few insights into getting involved in our work and finding that passion that drives every Key Clubber! First, we offer both online and in-person service events that are sent out every month by our wonderful Directors of Activities! While in-person activities can be a great substitute when you are busy, as I’m sure you have been during APs, do your best to attend in-person service activities and bring your friends. Serving on-site with your own hands is how you experience just how rewarding it is to support your community. Whether it be food banks or charity runs, you’ll be working alongside your peers and seeing the smiles of the people you help firsthand! You’ll also leave the day with not just the fulfillment of helping others but often incredible memories. I can recall so many moments from my own in-person service, from driving around golf carts at a Charity Golf Tournament to watching dogs surf! Key Club offers so many opportunities for service month; it’s just up to you to choose one and see where it can take you, transforming an average Saturday afternoon into a memory you’ll remember even when you graduate. So be bold. Take the initiative. Making a difference has to start somewhere, after all. I look forward to seeing all of you at our future service events and hope that you will find the same joy that I do. And if you have any suggestions for service activities that you know of, our cabinet is always open to new ideas!
