Facilitated by Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA), the training provided the necessary knowledge, skills, practices and processes needed to effectively function in situations characterised by cultural diversity and interactions with people or groups from different cultures and communities.
Key aspects covered in the training included:
• Introduction to cultural competence and cultural intelligence
• Intercultural factors in the workspace: challenges, issues and questions
• The four elements of developing individual cultural Intelligence
1. cultural self-awareness
2. cultural adaptability
3. cultural literacy
4. cultural bridging
The workshop was well received, with most attendees responding that the training was well presented, informative and applicable to everyday tasks of supporting clients.
