Burden was last seen Nov. 5 at about 6:30 a.m. at his home, East Greenbush police said. His vehicle, a maroon 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, was found Nov. which reported Tuesday that the county is measles-free. But calls are coming in to the Columbia County Health Department with questions about the MMR vaccine, which is administered to prevent measles, mumps and rubella. Most of the measles cases reported in the U.S. have occurred in New York,
Michigan and Washington state. The disease spread in Orthodox Jewish communities in Brooklyn and Rockland County before it was reported in Michigan. A large outbreak in southern Washington state spread mostly among unvaccinated children under 10. And last week, hundreds were placed under quarantine at two
Los Angeles universities after outbreaks were reported there. Measles was declared eradicated in the U.S. in 2000 but the highly contagious disease has returned in recent years in communities with low vaccination rates. See MEASLES A8

Police must issue appearance tickets to individuals charged with misdemeanors and class E felonies rather than make custodial arrests.
