University College Roosevelt’s undergraduate research journal offers the very best that its students have to offer. The articles cover the whole range of disciplines that make up the Liberal Arts and Sciences, from philosophy to mathematics. They are also a testimony to the values that underpin our bachelor program, and the reason why it has often been labelled as excellent; an appreciation of true curiosity, and of critical mind; an emphasis on rigorous scholarly research, be it qualitative or quantitative and a focus on clear, attractive writing. Out of the dozens of papers that every UCR student writes during their studies, those presented here have been selected by the editorial board to offer a sample of the most interesting work done by a wide range of students. They offer a wide range of readers insight into the questions asked within the Artes Liberales today, and the answers to them. Prof. Dr. Barbara Oomen – Dean University College Roosevelt
