DENTAL MIRROR
The Dental Mirror is a quarterly full colour magazine that is distributed to 3800+ Members and other subscribers.
The magazine content covers recent developments in dentistry, latest news and events, and feature articles on business management, human resources, law and legal advice from experts in the profession.
It is a prime communication tool with our Members, and we are open to partnering with selected advertisers who wish to reach dental professionals and students across Queensland.
ADAQ promotes the publishing of each Dental Mirror edition in an email to all Members and on social media.
There are four main types of advertisements:

DISPLAY ADS
Display advertisements are pictorial advertisements for businesses or services that are relevant to the dental profession.

All display advertisements must be in full colour, with 3mm bleed, and should be supplied in a high resolution (300 dpi) recognised desktop publishing format (e.g. PDF or jpeg) with CMYK colours.

In 2021 ADAQ’s Dental Mirror went digital, the magazine content is now offered via a blog style website.

Classified advertisements are text-only advertisements placed towards the back of the magazine.
Classifieds will not be proofread, ADAQ accepts no responsibility for incorrect text which is submitted and published.
Please submit your typed Classified ad using the booking form on the ADAQ website.

ADAQ ADVERTISING POLICY
1.DEFINITIONS
1.1. ADAQ - The Australian Dental Association (Queensland Branch) and its employees or agents, including the Editorial Panel.
1.2. Advertiser - refers to the person submitting the advertisement to ADAQ (including their employees, contractors or agents).
1.3. Advertisement - includes but is not limited to advertorials, display advertisements, classified advertisements and inserts.
1.4. Publication - refers to the inclusion of advertising content in any medium (hard copy or digital) by ADAQ.
1.5. Classified Advertisement - refers and is limited to messages about the Dental Profession or Dental Practice and are usually in plain text format.
1.6. Display Advertisement - refers to advertisements for commercial, private or non-dental specific promotion and are usually in an image format.
1.7. Inserts - refers to loose-leaf printed advertisements that are individually inserted into the ADAQ Dental Mirror and is limited to the promotion of dental industry or CPD products/ services.
2. GENERAL CONDITIONS
2.1. ADAQ may waive or modify any or all of the following guidelines at their discretion, should it be deemed appropriate within the scope of purpose of the Association.
2.2. Advertisements are accepted subject to the approval of the Editor and/ or the Editorial Board of ADAQ and contractual conditions (where applicable).
2.3. The advertiser in lodging any advertisement shall be deemed to have given assurances to ADAQ of compliance with any requirements of law affecting the product/service or the advertising of the product/service.
2.4. The advertiser shall undertake to indemnify ADAQ against all actions, costs, damages, expenses and other liability whatsoever that ADAQ may suffer or incur by reason of the publication of the advertisement. This indemnity shall not be affected by the fact of ADAQ evaluating the advertisement or the content thereof as suitable for publication.
2.5. Acceptance of any advertisement for publication does not indicate endorsement or approval by ADAQ.
2.6. ADAQ may request substantiation of any claims made in the advertisement.
2.7. ADAQ reserves the right to require any alteration of any copy, or to refuse advertisements without reason.
2.8. Advertisers are limited to a maximum of one full page per edition. In exceptional circumstances and for a specific activity or purpose, the Editor may approve additional advertising.
2.9. Classifieds from Non-Member and corporate entities are subject to editorial approval and may be considered a display advertisement and charged and placed accordingly.
2.10. CPD advertisements are restricted to ADAQ, ADAQ Sub-Branches, ADAQ affiliated Study Clubs, ADAQ and ADA affiliates and Queensland University Dental Schools but published at the discretion of ADAQ.
2.11. CPD advertisements by Sub- Branches, affiliates and Queensland University Dental Schools that include promotion of commercial, private practice or other organisations will not be accepted.
2.12. CPD advertisements from other ADA States and ADA are permitted on the premise of reciprocity for ADAQ CPD events in their equivalent publications.
2.13. Advertising of CPD activities or events conducted by other parties and/or individual Members will not be accepted.
2.14. No advertisement promoting any product/ service deemed to be a conflict of interest for ADAQ will be advertised.
2.15. Bookings can only be undertaken for the current calendar year of publication.
ADAQ ADVERTISING POLICY
2.16. Placement of advertisements within publication is at editorial discretion.
2.17. Agents are required to add their commission to the listed ADAQ advertising rates.
2.18. All advertising rates are reviewed each year and subject to change without notice.
2.19. Prices are valid until 31 December 2024 and subject to change.
DISCOUNTS:
1. ADAQ Members will receive a 25% discount on classified advertising published under their own name and related to the practice of dentistry.
2. Commercial advertisements submitted by ADA Members do not attract discount.
3. ADAQ Sub-Branches, ADAQ affiliated Study Clubs and ADAQ or ADA Affiliates will receive a 25% discount on advertising (max 1 per edition and 2 bookings per calendar year).
4. When pre-booking 3 advertisements for a calendar year, one free equivalent advertisement will be granted to the advertiser. Payment must be received upfront and prior to printing.
5. Discounts are not cumulative, highest discount applies.
3. COPY AND CONTENT DEADLINE:
3.1. All copy and content must be received by the deadlines listed on the ADAQ website. It is usually mid-month in February, May, August, November.
3.2. All advertisements must be submitted for approval prior to this date. Advertisements received after the copy deadline may not be published until the following issue.
3.3. Publication of the magazine occurs in the second week of each quarter month (March, June, September and December)
3.4. Advertisers are advised to book space as early as possible, as space may be filled before the copy deadline.
4. CHANGES AND CANCELLATION
POLICY:
Any changes to artwork, copy, content or cancellations of bookings can be made up to 5 working days from receipt of booking form without penalty. No refunds for cancellations made after the print deadline (1st business day of the month of publication). Any changes or cancellations must be made in writing.
5. PAYMENT TERMS:
Invoice will be sent after the relevant edition has been published.
6. SUBSCRIPTION:
Members of other ADA State Branches may subscribe annually to the Dental Mirror magazine at a cost of $88 (inc GST). If an overseas mailing address is specified, the annual subscription is $110 (inc GST).
