F02 “Working Hands” - Set of 3 photos Photography The trafficking survivors at our shelters have been working since they were toddlers. To help their families, they may work in the fields, tend to the livestock, cook and clean, and take care of their younger siblings, among many other tasks. For the ethnic minority girls in the north, they may also embroider and dye cloth in order to sew their own clothing or to produce fabric to sell. This series of 3 photographs captures the industrious hands of three sisters, all of whom were trafficking survivors, during a visit to their family's home in northern Vietnam. Photographer Nhu Tien Lu is a writer currently working with ADAPT in the northern and southern regions of Vietnam. (8”x10”, unframed). Nhu Tien Luu $250 $75 http://goo.gl/t5WTA

The kite vendors have bikes that are festooned with kites that dance at the end of tethers attached to poles. At night, when kites are backlit from street lamps and headlights from cars and motorcycles, they glow. In “Da Nang Kite at Night #2,” the photographer was able to catch this glow and in the lower part of the image you can see the headlight of an oncoming vehicle. Photographed by Neal Newfield, 2011. E06 “Gift Basket” Photography, canvas in wood frame Imagine the horrific reactions of by-standers as they catch a mother carrying her child in a bicycle's basket without a child’s helmet here in the US. However, in many parts of the world and in Vietnam, this is the only way mothers can afford to transport their children daily. The red sheer scarf is used to cover the child from the dirt along the unpaved road. Photo was taken in Ha Nam, when Hai-Ho participated with Project Vietnam on a medical mission. (18”x25”). Hai-Ho Tran $250 $75 http://goo.gl/Kmy1S

She carries a basket with a chicken inside heading to the market. Frequent travelers to Sapa will notice that globalization is creeping in, even in such a remote region where members of indigenous hill tribe groups such as H’mong, Dzao, Tay and Tai, minorities of Vietnam, fiercely defend their cultural identities such as by wearing traditional dress at all times. (21"x17" frame size, 8"x10" photo size). Hai-Ho Tran $250 $75 http://goo.gl/vYB5d
