What is Hydro-Excavation?

Hydrovac excavation is a relatively new process of digging to break soil using pressurized water and a power vacuum system. It is a substitute for mechanical excavation, which depends on tractors and excavators. Hydro-excavation is non-damaging and helps to cautiously reveal underground framework and utilities. It is also less dangerous to workers because of the decreased chance of collapsing and other calamities which happen during mechanical drilling.

Hydro-Excavation Services Application

A specialized machine known as hydrovac trailer or hydrovac truck is used for hydro-excavation. The operator inserts a wand or a hose into the ground at the site during digging. Water pressure is injected into the soil with the help of the wand which will break up the compactness of the soil. Then the water makes the soil slurry. After that, to make the workplace clean the slurry soils are removed from there. The best application of hydro-excavation is where there is low impact and accuracy on the worksite is crucial. Using hot water is one of the most common ways to excavate frozen soil.
