Frank Ladwig `63 (Newbury Park, CA) writes, “The love and caring that I found as a student at ASC in the early ‘60s became so fundamental to me throughout my teaching career. Thanks, ASU!” Frank Lower `63, `64 (Marshall, TX) spent 2 years in the Denver University Law School, then entered higher education, teaching at Georgia State University. Then recently I was invited to participate in a new randomized trial from the Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School called COSMOS. It is a study of cocoa extract and multivitamins to determine their role in improving health. It will last for 4 years and be conducted by mail, with some volunteers receiving placebos. I find this a way to still be useful as a senior citizen--volunteering. Why do they ask me? Because I have had and survived cancer four times now. My late husband wasn't so lucky. He was the fourth in his family to die from cancer.
