Country Director AAH-I South Sudan AAH-I, an international non-profit making agency that implements humanitarian relief, recovery and development projects in Africa, seeks to recruit a visionary, dynamic, innovative, senior humanitarian and development leader and manager for the position of Country Director for its program in South Sudan. The position will be based in AAH-I‘s Juba Office. The Country Director has overall responsibility for AAH-I programs and operations in South Sudan. He/she represents AAH-I with the Government, Donors, partners and other stakeholders to foster a supportive environment for AAH-I’s work. He/she directs programs, ensuring that they are planned, implemented and coordinated within the overall AAH-I program strategy and donor guidelines. He/she ensures prudent management of resources to achieve the desired results. The Country Director leads and supervises a staff of over 350 employees working in 7 States across the country. He/she is responsible for further growing the AAH-I South Sudan program and expanding its funding sources. AAH-I has been a development leader in South Sudan for over 20 years now, working in the areas of: 1) Basic services – primary health care, water, sanitation and education; 2) Food and income security and environmental management; 3) Governance, civil society strengthening and peace building; and 4) Humanitarian relief and recovery. Required Qualifications: o Master’s degree in the social sciences with significant experience in either humanitarian relief, public health or development projects management; o Proven track record of leadership, with at least 8 years progressive senior management experience supervising complex programs funded by major multilateral or bilateral donor agencies; o Demonstrated field leadership in strategic program and project development, implementation, and evaluation; o Proven track record in resource mobilization; o Commitment to promote AAH-I’s Vision, Mission and its strategic goals; o Inspiring leadership with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; o Excellent diplomatic skills and ability to create positive relations with senior government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations, NGOs and CBOs to enhance AAH-I’s programs. o Experience with financial management and compliance with donor requirements. o Entrepreneurial orientation, self-starter able to work independently and cope with demanding work situations in a complex setting.
