Lunar New Year 2025 Celebration

February 7, 2025

The ACS Athens lobby and atrium transformed into a vibrant celebration for the Year of the Snake. The PTO organized an immersive event featuring traditional Chinese music, calligraphy, kung fu performances, dragon dances, and tea ceremonies. Guests enjoyed authentic cuisine and a standout student performance of Electra by the Sino-Hellenic Performing Arts Alliance.

The ACS Athens community came together to honor educators and staff. Students brought flowers and notes, and the PTO hosted a parent-sponsored brunch featuring homemade dishes. We thank all volunteers and donors for making the day meaningful and memorable.

PTO Easter Sales Bazaar

April 9, 2025

The PTO held a festive bazaar with handmade treats and traditional Easter candles (Λαμπάδες). Students and parents supported the initiative throughout the day. Sincere thanks to all volunteers and contributors for their support.

PTO Spring Festival

May 24, 2025

ACS Athens closed the year with the Spring Festival, celebrating community and culture. The event featured performances, international food, games, a dunk tank, and student-led booths.

DALI

Cybernetics at Hellenic Cosmos

January 31, 2025

In late January, the ACS Athens PTO organized an excursion to the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center for the immersive Dali: Cybernetics exhibition. Salvador Dali’s surreal artwork was reimagined through 3D projections and virtual reality, allowing parents to explore his visionary world in a uniquely modern and interactive way. We thank all participating parents and look forward to future cultural outings.

Ancient Agora of Athens

May 8, 2025

On May 8, the PTO led a guided tour of the Ancient Agora of Athens with expert tour guide Nadia Pavlikaki. As the historic center of Athenian political, social, and commercial life, the Agora provided deep insight into classical Greek civilization. Highlights included the Temple of Hephaestus—the best-preserved ancient temple in Greece—and the Stoa of Attalos. Participants explored the roots of democracy and philosophy in this enlightening cultural experience.

Kykladitisses: Untold Stories of Women in the Cyclades

March 19, 2025

In March, the PTO hosted a guided visit to the Museum of Cycladic Art for the landmark exhibition Kykladitisses: Untold Stories of Women in the Cyclades. This first-ever pan-Cycladic presentation revealed the lives and roles of women in Cycladic societies from the Neolithic period through the 19th century. Featuring over 180 rarely seen artifacts, the exhibition offered a powerful and nuanced view of history through a female lens.

PTO Workshops

Unleash: A Journey of Self-Discovery Through Movement & Myth

March 7, 2025

On March 7, the PTO and the Center for Student Success hosted Unleash, a unique workshop blending dance, expressive movement, and ancient Greek mythology. Inspired by the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur and originally presented at TEDx Athens 2023, the session led participants through storytelling and motion to explore themes of courage, self-discovery, and personal growth.

First Aid & CPR Workshop

April 11, 2025

On April 11, the PTO organized a First Aid and CPR training session for parents, led by nurses from the U.S. Embassy and certified by the American Red Cross. The workshop offered essential hands-on instruction in life-saving techniques including CPR, use of AED devices, choking response, and bleeding control..

Calm Centered Parenting Workshop

March 28, 2025

The PTO and the Center for Student Success co-hosted Calm Centered Parenting: Everyday Strategies for Stress-Free Living, a hands-on workshop for parents. Led by Allison Simpson, ACS Athens parent and Mindset Architect, the session introduced neuroscience-backed methods and energy psychology tools for managing stress, building emotional resilience, and cultivating a calm family environment.

Experience the Simple Power of Breathing

June 2, 2025

On June 2, participants joined a calming 1-hour Breathwork session led by Paul Jones, focused on techniques to ease stress, boost energy, and promote clarity. Held in the peaceful setting of Ktima Aristi, the workshop offered a timely moment of calm before exams and inspired many to share the techniques with their children.
