AcrossU-hub
In today’s fast-changing world, family relationships face new challenges The gap between parents and children is often not due to a lack of love, but rather a lack of understanding and communication.
Based on a true story, ‘Papa’ tells the story of a father struggling with guilt and responsibility after a family tragedy, forcing him to redefine what it means to be a father. Sometimes, a father’s love is silent, but that does not mean it isn’t there. Veteran actor Sean Lau’s moving performance conveys deep emotions through subtle expressions and gestures, allowing the audience to feel his inner turmoil.
Across U-hub invites audiences of all ages to attend the ‘Papa’ movie premiere night, and watch this powerful film. This film resonates in order to further discuss the role of fathers in modern families We hope that this conversation will encourage people to think about ways to end the taboo and improve parent-child interactions in real life.
This upcoming event will feature fun and interactive activities designed for fathers and their children to work together. Through these challenges, they will overcome awkwardness and develop a stronger bond We hope this experience will foster family reconnection and make a father's love genuinely seen and felt.
Helping youth express themselves is the core idea behind the SHARP Program. Many young people struggle with self-expression, fearing judgment or misunderstanding, which only widens the gap between them and their parents. SHARP helps youth discover their self-worth, build communication skills, and develop healthier relationships with their families.
One SHARP participant shared, “I used to think my dad was scary, so I never talked to him. But through this program, I learned how to express myself in a way he understands ” These moments of realization are what SHARP aims to bring to more families.
‘Papa’ reminds us that family relationships need to be seen, understood, and healed. “Super Dad” helps fathers and children rebuild connections, while SHARP equips youth with the tools to communicate better.
We believe that every young person deserves a healthy parent-child relationship, and that every parent hopes to connect more deeply with their children. This March, let’s reflect together: How can we bring families closer? How can we show our care and presence in everyday life?
Across U-hub walks this journey with you breaking the silence and strengthening family connections.
We are excited to share the incredible results of our Neighbour in Need: Collection Drive, held in January. In just one month, we collected over 700 lbs of clothing, hygiene products, and blankets, delivering 40+ bags to Dress for Success, Ve’ahavta, Good Shepherd Ministries, and The Salvation Army. Our volunteers played an active role in sorting, folding, and packing donations Beyond their efforts, this initiative sparked meaningful discussions and reflections. Volunteers gained deeper insights into the needs of vulnerable individuals, the work of local non-profit organizations, and mindful consumption
This drive not only supported those in need but also created an opportunity for volunteers to engage, reflect, and grow.
Today’s youth are increasingly driven to apply their learning in meaningful ways and make a positive impact in their communities. Building on the theme of “The Power of a Simple Gift” from last year ’ s Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project and this year ’ s Collection Drive, Across U-hub is launching a new series of stewardship activities under the theme of “The Power of a Simple Action ”
