A big part of her decision to return to the College, she says, was her colleagues on the faculty. “Everyone is very supportive of one another.” In 2006, Dr. Miller was recognized by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties as Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy. Board certification is the pharmacy industry’s highest credential and BPS-certified pharmacy specialists are recognized for their advanced level of knowledge, skills and achievements by government agencies and health care organizations throughout the United States. For more about Dr. Miller, see Class Notes.
w A part-time instructor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Stephanie Young ’06, Pharm.D., is one of the most recent graduates teaching at ACPHS but, even so, she has seen lots of changes. “Everything has grown so much in just two years! More students, more faculty, more buildings and more degrees,” she says. She remembers her time as a student fondly, especially making lifelong friends and meeting her husband, Miller Young ’02, Pharm.D. “One of the highlights of my student days was going on a medical mission to Kenya as one of my clerkships during my sixth year,” she explains.

After graduating from ACP in 2006, Dr. Young went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy residency at the Stratton V.A Medical Center. “When my residency ended and it was time to choose a career, the decision was easy,” says Dr. Young, who started at the College in the summer of 2007. “Being a part of educating future pharmacists is a wonderful experience. Getting to know the students and seeing all of the great things that they accomplish during their years at the College is highly rewarding. ” She continues to work per diem at the V.A., Albany Medical Center and at Young’s Pharmacy and General Store in Averill Park, N.Y., an independent pharmacy she owns with her husband. In their precious spare time, the Youngs enjoy spending time with their year-old daughter Mya.
