Training Focus: Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (Early Years Foundation Stage EYFS Framework) 30 Aug 2018
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old and was revised on 3 March 2017 and came into force on 3 April last year. All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes. This revised EYFS also includes the new Paediatric First Aid (PFA) training requirements that were announced in July 2016 after the government response to the PFA consultation, including that all newly quali ed entrants to the early years workforce with a level 2 or 3 quali cation must also have either a full or emergency PFA certi cate within 3 months of starting work. The EYFS states that the childcare provider is responsible for selecting a competent training provider to deliver their PFA training which includes those operating under a voluntary accreditation scheme. Our Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) course is accredited by Qualsafe Awards, one of the country’s leading Awarding Organisations in rst aid, and is aimed at registered child minders, nursery, crèche or school sta , and those working in a childcare setting who need to meet OFSTED requirements – in particular the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
