Welcome to the 28th Annual Boston Pops on Nantucket! It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the entire team at Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Your presence this evening is a powerful declaration of your commitment to sustaining high-quality, compassionate healthcare for our island and seasonal community. We are deeply grateful for your support, which uplifts and empowers our caregivers in their mission to serve Nantucket year-round.
We are honored to welcome Maestro Conner Gray Covington as tonight’s guest conductor of the Boston Pops. Making his debut with the Pops this season, Conner brings extraordinary talent and fresh energy to this beloved tradition, and we are delighted to share in his artistry. We are equally thrilled to feature Bruce In The USA as our special musical guest. Their tribute to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band promises an unforgettable evening of celebration and spirited performance.
I would like to express sincere appreciation to our dedicated Co-Chairs, Jennifer and Jimmy Reyes, whose leadership and enthusiasm have helped make this event a success for the entire community. Special thanks also to Tommy Bresette for serving as our gracious host this evening, and to the Nantucket Community Chorus’ ACKapella group for sharing their remarkable local talent with us.
This evening would not be possible without the steadfast generosity of Jill and Steve Karp, White Elephant Resorts, and Fidelity Investments. Their enduring partnership ensures the continued success of this event and strengthens the mission of our hospital.
The Boston Pops on Nantucket is not only a celebration of music and community, it is also a vital fundraiser supporting Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s role as the island’s nonprofit healthcare provider. The proceeds from tonight’s event directly benefit our caregivers and enable us to deliver essential medical services to residents and visitors alike.
Thank you for joining us and for making a meaningful difference. We hope you enjoy the music, the camaraderie, and this beautiful Nantucket evening.
Warm regards,
Amy E. Lee, MBA, MBHA, MJ, FACMPE President Nantucket Cottage Hospital

28th Annual Boston Pops on Nantucket
OnNantucket, where a first name is often all you need, Tom Bresette–known affectionately as Tommy B–has earned his place among the island’s most beloved characters. A former bartender turned Chief Operating Officer of the exclusive Nantucket Golf Club, Bresette has spent decades bridging the worlds of high-end hospitality and local island life with rare humility and heart.
A sixth child in a family of nine from Potomac, Maryland, Bresette grew up in a home where generosity was second nature. His parents instilled in him a deep sense of service, often welcoming strangers–migrant workers, the unhoused, anyone in need–into their home for dinner. That spirit of inclusion and community has followed him throughout his life.
In 1992, persuaded by restaurateurs Seth and Angela Raynor, Bresette moved to Nantucket to manage the bar at the Boarding House. He quickly became a “Nantucket star-tender,” known for remembering everyone’s name–and drink order. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Leslie, marrying her in 1996 as they began envisioning a family and a new chapter.
That chapter led him to the Nantucket Golf Club, where he has served as COO for over 20 years. Under his leadership, the Club has become one of the island’s most powerful philanthropic forces, raising millions for local children’s causes while maintaining its status as a premier destination.
With the warmth of Santa Claus–minus the beard and the belly–Tommy B remains a symbol of generosity, loyalty, and the kind of down-to-earth charm that makes Nantucket, well, Nantucket.
General Admission Entertainment
Sean Lee has been performing on island for over ten years, becoming a staple of the Nantucket music scene. With influences spanning from Irish folk, classic rock, and modern influences, he has gained quite the following and is now spanning out to play across the country.
He also loves fishing the shores of Nantucket, and riding his bike on the many bike trails across the island. For more information please visit www.theseanleeodyssey.com.
Conductor
Described by Yannick Nézet-Séguin as “a musician who lives the music,” American conductor Conner Gray Covington performs an unusually broad repertory of symphonic, opera, and film repertoire ranging from classical to the present day. In the 2025-2026 season, Covington debuts with the Boston Pops, Chicago Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, and Phoenix Symphony. He also makes return visits to the North Carolina Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, and Tucson Symphony. Additionally, Covington returns to the Utah Symphony where he maintains a close relationship after completing a successful four-year tenure as Associate Conductor and Principal Conductor of the Deer Valley Music Festival.
During his tenure with the Utah Symphony, Conner conducted nearly 300 performances of classical subscription, education, film, pops, and family concerts, as well as tours throughout the state, and has returned several times each season as a guest conductor since 2021. Other recent guest conducting includes appearances with the Knoxville Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Tallahassee Symphony, and Vancouver Symphony, as well as the Bellingham Festival of Music and the Grand Teton Music Festival. Conner is a five-time recipient of a Career Assistance Award from the Solti Foundation U.S. and was a featured conductor in the Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview presented by the League of American Orchestras.
Conner’s recent concert engagements include Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, Mozart Symphony No. 36, “Linz”, Elgar Serenade for Strings, Britten Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra and Mason Bates Philharmonia Fantastique with the San Diego Symphony, Rimsky Korsakov Scheherazade with the Knoxville Symphony, Dvorak Symphony No. 8 and Mozart Exsultate Jubilate with the Tallahassee Symphony, Richard Strauss Suite from Der Rosenkavalier and Brahms Symphony No. 2 with the Amarillo Symphony and Ravel Mother Goose (complete ballet) at the Bellingham Festival of Music.
With the Utah Symphony Conner has conducted the world premiere of Quinn Mason Trombone Concerto, Richard Strauss Don Juan, Barber Symphony No. 1, Debussy La Mer, Haydn Symphonies No. 49 and 88, Dvorak Symphonies No. 6 and No. 8, Beethoven Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 7, Mozart Symphonies No. 36, 39, and 40, Mendelssohn Symphony No. 3 and 4, Handel Messiah, Ravel Mother Goose Suite, Stravinsky The Firebird (1919 Suite), Schumann Symphony No. 3, ‘Rhenish’, and Brahms Symphony No. 2.
Conner’s operatic engagements include Britten’s THE TURN OF THE SCREW for the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA and the world premiere of Rene Orth’s EMPTY THE HOUSE at the Curtis Opera Theatre and LE NOZZE DI FIGARO for his debut with Utah Opera. He has also conducted more than twenty feature films with orchestra including Frozen, Singing in the Rain, Casablanca, Raiders of the Lost Arc, Star Wars and Jurassic Park.
Born in Louisiana, Covington studied conducting at the Curtis Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, and the Aspen Music Festival where his primary teachers included Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Neil Varon, and Robert Spano.
Conner currently lives in Boston with his wife Mischa and their two cats, Razel and Oreo.
BruceIn The USA is much more than just another tribute …
This high-energy musical experience is a note-perfect and visually accurate recreation of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.
Matt Ryan, from the World Famous “Legends in Concert” cast, began playing the Springsteen character in 2000, in Legends “full scale” Las Vegas show. The success of the Las Vegas show brought him to performances across the world, eventually evolving his character into Bruce In The USA.
The Bruce In The USA show was born on the Las Vegas Strip in the winter of 2004, with its debut at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, in the majestic V Theatre. The show assaulted the senses in a fun-filled and exciting party atmosphere on the Vegas Strip, while suspending disbelief for even the toughest skeptics. Bruce in the USA has been met with critical acclaim, from the Stone Pony, large theaters, and Performance Art Centers across the country, as well as corporate events spanning across the globe for over a decade. Sell-out crowds are on their feet from the first song to the last.
The Bruce In The USA band consists of seasoned world-class professional musicians. The show has hosted musicians from such acts/bands as Queen/Paul Rogers, Meatloaf, Blue Oyster Cult, Hall and Oats, Joe Cocker, The Ojays, Aretha Franklin, David Cassidy, The Temptations, Slash … and so many more.
This high end, powerhouse band has taken this genre of performance art to a whole new level, making it the World’s #1 Tribute to the E Street Band’s musical legacy.

For over 110 years, Nantucket Cottage Hospital has cared for island residents and visitors with compassion and integrity.
But we’re also so much more than that. We are your friends, neighbors, and family. Our relationships with our patients don’t end after an appointment or discharge. We see our patients at the grocery store, in the schools, at the ballfields, and on the ferries. Our doctors, nurses and medical professionals are part of the island community in so many ways, making our sense of responsibility to our patients even greater.
As a non-profit hospital, your presence here at tonight’s Boston Pops on Nantucket allows our team to continue providing quality medical care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
