AsIbeginmy21styearatArchbishopCarroll,Iamgratefultocallthiscommunitymysecond home.Eachnewschoolyearbringsasenseofexcitementandpossibility,anditisalwaysa joytowatchourstudentssettleintotheirclassesandroutines.IntheAcademicOffice,most ofmytimeduringthesefirstfewweekshasbeendevotedtorosterchangerequests.With thosewrappinguponMonday,studentscanfocusfullyontheirfinalizedschedulesandthe learningahead
Myhopeisthateverystudentfeelscomfortablewiththeirrosterandisconfidentinthe environmentwearecreatingtogether.Withthatfoundationinplace,wecanmoveintothe rhythmoftheschoolyear,andbeforelong,theenergyofhomecomingfestivitieswillbehere!
Outsideoftheschoolday,Ienjoycheeringonourstudent-athletesandfollowingthePhillies andVillanovabasketball,whereIamproudtobeanalum.Ialsolovesharinginthe excitementofourschooltraditions,andthesemomentsremindmewhybeingpartofthe Carrollcommunityissospecial.

OnFriday,September19th,wewillholdourFreshmanRetreat.Inthehopes ofrefocusingourstudentsontheseretreats,onlytheFreshmanwillreport toschoolonSeptember19th.Sophomores,Juniors,andSeniorsshoulduse thisearlybreaktoensuretheyarenotfallingbehindontheirwork.

Tohelpusensurethesafetyofourstudentsandprovideteacherswiththe supporttheyneedtoprepareforabsencesanddismissals,pleaseadheretothe followingschoolprocedures.
Ifastudentisgoingtobeabsentorlatetoschool,parentsmustcompletethe onlineformfoundHERE.Thisformmustbecompletedbyaparent/guardian fromaparent/guardianemailaddress.Anystudentfoundcompletingthisform willbeissueddemeritsfortheappropriatenumberofclasscutsorface additionaldisciplinaryaction.

Ifastudentrequiresanearlydismissalforanon-school-relatedreason,parents mustcalltheschoolatleast24hoursinadvanceofthedismissalandnolater than8:00AMofthedayoftherequestedearlydismissal.
Torequestanearlydismissal,parentsshouldcalltheschoolat610-688-7610,ext. 1,andpleaseleaveamessage.Themorningsarehigh-traffictimeswherestaff areassistingstudentsinperson,soleavingavoicemailallowstheofficeto processtherequestinatimelyandaccuratemanner.
Ifachildisleavingearlyorarrivinglateforadoctor'sappointment,anotemust beprovidedtoconsiderthearrivalordismissal"excused"inthesystem.

Atthispoint,ladiesshouldbewearingtheschool-brandedleggings.Afinal reminderwassentoutonThursdayevening.Asareminder:
-Theschool-brandedleggingsaretheexpectationfortheladiesuniform,yearround.
-Forstudentswhoneededtopurchasethelongerorshorterleggings,decal"C"'s wereavailableforpurchaseatschoolthisweekandmorearebeingordered. However,theseareonlyforthosestudentswhorequiredthelongerorshorter leggings,notforanyonetoironontotheirownpairsofleggings.Studentswho requirethe"C"mustpresenttheirAmazonreceipttoMrs.Wallforconfirmationprior topurchasing.

BeforeandAfter-SchoolSupervision
ArchbishopCarrolloffersBefore-SchoolSupervisiononadailybasis,and onmostdays,alsoprovidesafter-schoolsupervisionforstudentswho needit.
Inthemornings,thebuildingwillopenat7:00AM.Allstudentsmustenter throughtheCafeteriadoors,andthenreporttooneoftwolocations: FreshmanandSophomoreswillremainintheCafeteria,andJuniorsand SeniorswillreporttoRoom200.Studentsaretoremainthereuntilthefirst warningbellringsat7:35AM.Nostudentsaretobewanderingthehalls priorto7:35AM.Studentswillhave10minutestogettotheirlockersand/or droptheirathleticbagsinthebagroombythemainofficebeforeschool begins.
After-SchoolSupervisionwillbeprovidedonanalmostdailybasis,using thefollowingschedule:Mondays,Tuesdays,Thursdays,andFridaysuntil 5:00PM.Wednesdayswillbeuntil4:30PM.After-SchoolSupervisionwillbe heldinthecafeteria,andstudentswhoarestayingafterschoolmustsign inwiththemoderator.Studentsareexpectedtoberespectfultowardsthe moderatorandtowardsotherstudents,andshouldusethistimetoget workdonerelativelyquietly.
Studentswhocannotfollowtheseexpectations,orwhoareusing foul/inappropriatelanguagewillbeaskedtoleaveafter-school supervisionandmaynotbeallowedback.Studentsfoundwanderingthe hallsandnotfollowingtherulesmayalsobeaskedtoleave. Welovetomaketheschoolasecondhomeforourstudents.However,if studentsdonothaveareasontostayafterschool(waitingforaride, practice,oractivity),theyshouldbegoinghome.Thankyouforyourhelp withthis!
