From the case scenario, it is evident that the patient, who had multiple chronic conditions, was totally dependent on his daughter for financial support. Being Asian, the patient has a cultural perspective on health, illness, and death and believes in them. Eventually, these believes affects his health seeking behavior and he only takes it as a by the way (Wannassitikul, Termsirikulchai, Sujirarat, Benjakul, Tanasugarn, 2016). This is evident as he clearly states that he just wanted to have his annual examination but does not want to be a burden to his sister.

Assessing this patient requires a good understanding of his socioeconomic background as well as his lifestyle. The patient requires enough financial support for the management of his conditions. Understanding his lifestyle is important in knowing the implications it has on his health. Proper assessment of the patient will guide his diagnosis and treatment (Dains et al., 2016).
