Whether Bariatric Surgery is an Appropriate Intervention Bariatric surgery is recommended for extremely obese patients with BMI of more than 44 (Angrisani et al., 2015). It is usually advised that patients try other interventions such as dieting and exercising before opting for surgery. The surgery is important in preventing obesity-related conditions in high risk patients (le Roux & Heneghan, 2018). In the above case, the patient can undergo surgery to reduce his risks.

Schedule for Mr. C The patient has new medications for peptic ulcer disease to fit in his schedule. Since he has already planned out meal times, I would advise him to use reminders such as alarms to help him stick to his medications scheduled for 3 hours and 1 hour before mealtimes. Other medications can be taken normally at bedtime and during mealtimes (Ortega et al., 2016).

Problems and their Rationale In the functional assessment, it is evident that Mr. C is negatively affected by his obesity.
