Մեր Խօսքը – Ահաւասիկ կը տօնախմբենք Հայ Կեդրոնի Ամառնային Փառատօնին 20-րդ ամեակը: Երկու տասնեակներ շարունակ համահայկական համբաւ ունեցող այս փառատօնը, առաջնորդուած «Բոլորս Միասին» կարգախօսով, ստեղծած է հայաշունչ միջավայր, գանատահայութեան մատուցած է ամբողջական գոհունակութիւն եւ յիշատակելի պահեր: Թորոնթոյի Հայ Կեդրոնի Ամառնային տարեկան Փառատօնի հիմնական առաքելութիւնը եղած է տարածել հայկական երաժշտութեան եւ մշակոյթի հարստութիւնը Հիւսիսային Ամերիկայի նորահաս սերունդներու հոգիներուն մէջ, ինչպէս նաեւ բարձրագոյն պատուանդանի վրայ պահել հայ երաժշտութիւնն ու արուեստը եւ Հայ Կեդրոնը վերածել միջ-գաղութային համախմբման եռօրեայ երիտասարդութեան ժամադրավայրը: Առ այդ, Թորոնթոյի Փառատօնը 20 տարիներ շարունակ կը նպատակադրէ՝ 1. Քաջալեր հանդիսանալ հայ արուեստագէտներու վերելքին, 2. Ստեղծել հայաշունչ խրախճանային մթնոլորտ հայ ընտանիքներու եւ երիտասարդութեան համար, 3. Ծանօթացնել Հայ Կեդրոնը եւ անոր յարկին տակ գործող մարմիններու բազմատեսակ գործունէութիւնները, 4. Ընդարձակել Հայ Կեդրոնի գործակիցներու ցանցը, 5. Ազգային եւ մշակութային բաւարարութիւն տալ մասնակիցներուն՝ ստեղծելով յիշատակելի մթնոլորտ մը ինչպէս նաեւ հրամցնել հայկական խոհանոցը մատչելի գիներով, 6. Նիւթապէս օժանդակել Հայ Կեդրոնին, ապահովելով տնտեսական կոկիկ եկամուտ մը: CANADA DAY TORONTO

Վերոյիշեալ ծրագիրներու լոյսին տակ, Փառատօնի յանձնախումբս ամբողջ տարի մը գործեց` ջանք չխնայելով յաղթահարելու մեր առջեւ ցցուած բոլոր դժուարութիւնները: Այս առիթով, մեր խորին շնորհակալութիւնները եւ գնահատանքը կը յայտնենք Փառատօնի յանձնախումբին, կամաւորներու մեծ խումբին, Փառատօնի հովանաւորներուն, նուիրատուներուն եւ գրքոյկին իրենց ծանուցումներով եւ գովազդներով օժանդակութիւն բերող անհատներուն եւ հաստատութիւններուն, ինչպէս նաեւ իրենց ներկայութեամբ ձեռնարկը քաջալերող բոլոր հայրենակիցներուն, որոնց կը պարտինք Ամառնային Փառատօնի յաջողութիւնը: Այս գրքոյկի էջերուն մէջ, ծանուցումներու կողքին, պիտի տեսնէք նաեւ Հայ Կեդրոնի յարկին տակ գործող բոլոր կազմակերպութիւններուն ու միութիւններուն, ՀՕՄ-ի Ամէնօրեայ Վարժարանին եւ Սբ. Fellow Armenians, The Armenian Community Centre of Toronto is proud to present to you, the 20th annual Toronto ACC SummerFest! For two decades, this grand event has come together, unifying our community, while attracting attendees from across North America and around the World. Now in its 20th year, ACC Summerfest has become the central defining event of the community’s existence in Toronto.

The spirit of the festival has always been to bring Armenians together. Together, here we celebrate Armenian Culture, Music, Food, and Tradition.

The festival has also grown to be recognized and appreciated within the larger Willowdale and Toronto communities where many Torontonians have come to learn about Armenian culture and traditions. Finally, proceeds from the event have become a critical piece in sustaining the numerous cultural, humanitarian, and educational services that are delivered through our Community Centre.

Within the pages of this event-book, you will find a summary showcasing each of the distinct programs and associations that are housed within our community. As you read on, you will learn the details of the active programs and events, while finding opportunities to become involved with our vibrant community.

Սուրբ Աստուածածին Հայաստանեայց Առաքելական եկեղեցին հոգեւոր եւ ազգային կեանք կ’ապահովէ մեր գաղութի զաւակներուն համար, վառ պահելով Քրիստոնէական հաւատքի եւ հայութեան արժէքներու տէրը դառնալու գիտակցութիւնը: Եկեղեցին ունի երէցներու եւ կրտսերներու դպրաց դասեր, 10 ժրաջան յանձնախումբեր եւ շուրջ 250 կամաւոր ծառայողներ: Բարեսիրական գետնի վրայ, եկեղեցին օգտակար կը դառնայ դպրոցական կրթաթոշակներով եւ երէցներու, հիւանդներու եւ կարիքաւոր ընտանիքներու խնամատարութեամբ եւ օժանդակութեամբ: Կը ջամբէ քրիստոնէական դաստիարակութիւն՝ Սբ. Գիրքի սերտողութեան եւ Կիրակնօրեայ Վարժարանի միջոցներով: Սբ. Աստուածածին եկեղեցւոյ հովիւն ու հոգաբարձութիւնը կը կազմակերպեն համերգներ, Սբ. Ծննդեան եւ Սբ. Յարութեան տօներուն առիթով՝ Սիրոյ Սեղաններ, տօնավաճառ եւ Սբ. Աստուածածինի Վերափոխաման տօնին ու Եկեղեցւոյ անուանակոչութեան զոյգ առիթներով՝ տարեկան քերմէս: Եկեղեցին իր աշխոյժ մասնակցութիւնը կը բերէ միջ-յարանուանական աշխատանքներուն, անոնց ընդմէջէն նշելու կամ ոգեկոչելու համար ազգային, եկեղեցական ու աւանդական տօներն ու տարեդարձները: Սբ. The St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church serves as a beacon of faith for the Armenian community of Toronto. The church was officially established in 1983, and the first Holy Mass was celebrated on Sunday, April 10, 1983. Services were conducted at St. Augustine Anglican Church until a new church was built.

On May 27, 1990 the new building was consecrated and its first Holy Mass was celebrated for its newly built altar and the church was officially named St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church.

The St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church has both junior and senior choirs, ten auxiliaries and committees and over 250 volunteers. The church is very active in community matters, including providing assistance to elderly community members and the needy. The St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church also stays true to its Christian mission by holding weekly Bible study session and providing Sunday school education to the community’s children. Throughout the year, the church Pastor and Board of Trustees organize a number of events including concerts, dinners, bazaars and a yearly summer festival.

Finally, the church actively participates in inter-denominational activities with its sister churches and continues to be an integral part of the Armenian community of Toronto.

Հայ Օգնութեան Միութեան Թորոնթոյի Ռուբինա Մասնաճիւղը իր 400-է աւելի անդամներով լայնածաւալ աշխատանք կը տանի իր յանձնախումբերով եւ ենթայանձնախումբերով, հաւատարիմ մեր առաքելութեան որպէս մարդասիրական կազմակերպութիւն միշտ պատրաստ եղած ենք մեր օգնութիւնը բերելու ուր որ կարիքը ստեղծուած եւ պահանջքը ներկայացած է: Մասնաճիւղիս գործունէութեան մաս կը կազմէ ՀՕՄ-ի Ամառնային ճամբարը, ուր ութը շաբաթներու ընթացքին հայ մանուկներն ու պատանիները կամփոփուին հայաշունչ, հաճելի եւ զուարթ մթնորլորտի մէջ, հայկական երգերով ու պարերով, շրջապտոյտներով, ձեռային աշխատանքներով, համակարգիչի գործածութեամբ կը լեցնեն իրենց ամրան արձակուրդի օրերը: Ունինք Ընկերային Ծառայութեան գրասենեակը որ բաց է շաբթուան հինգ օրերը երկուշաբթիէն մինչեւ Ուրբաթ, առաւօտեան ժամը 11:00-էն մինչեւ կէսօրէ ետք ժամը 2:00: Գրասենեակի միջոցաւ կը հոգանք կարիքը ունեցող բոլոր հայորդիներուն եւ ընտանիքներուն: Մեր պապենական հողերու պատմական արժէքները եւ աւնդութիւնները պահպանելու միտումով ամէն տարի կը կազմակերպենք Տոհմիկ Օրը: Մասնաճիւղիս տարեկան ձեռնարկներն են Տօնավաճառը, ՀՕՄ-ի Օրը, Միջազգային կանանց օրը, Մայրերու օր եւ Ամանորի խրախճանքը:

Ունինք Մայր ու Փոքրիկ շաբաթական հանդիպումներու ծրագիրը, ուր մայրեր եւ նորածինէն մինչեւ քանի տարեկան երեխաներ շաբաթը անգամ մը հանդիպում կունենան միատեղ, առիթը ունենալու սերտ կապեր հաստատելու իրար հետ: The Armenian Relief Society of Toronto - “Roubina” Chapter is a vibrant organization with over 400 members, with a mission for promoting education, providing social services and empowering women.

The first educational endeavour of the ARS “Roubina” chapter was the establishment of the ARS Summer School, followed by the ARS Day School. As the ARS Day School flourished, the summer school evolved into the ARS Summer Camp.

Armenian Credit courses were established through the efforts of the ARS “Roubina” Chapter; the high school credit courses continue today for students in Grades 9-12. In addition to promoting education, the ARS “Roubina” chapter has established many awards and scholarships for Armenian and Canadian students with high academic achievement at the elementary, high school, University and post graduate levels.

The chapter has also established a Social Services office, in order to meet the needs of the growing Toronto Armenian community and to implement both provincial and federal programs. It also organizes lectures for its members and for the general public on a variety of cultural, social and health related issues.

The ARS “Roubina” Chapter participates annually in the fundraising efforts for the Canadian Cancer Society. Also, the International Women’s Day provides fundraising for various women’s shelters and clinics.

Over the years, the chapter has donated generously to many projects in Armenia, Artsakh and Javakhk, such as the ARS Sosse Kindergartens, Mother and Child Birthing Centre, Sponsor-a-child, sponsor-a-student, scholarships and awards for achievement in essay writing. More recently, the ARS Roubina chapter actively participated in the humanitarian efforts bringing forth generous funding for schools, hot meal programs for needy families and warm clothing for children in Syria.

The chapter organizes many annual functions, such as: The ARS Day, Requiem Service, Heritage Day-Dohmig or, Annual Bazaar, Mothers Day, International Women’s Day, Mentorship program and celebrations of the traditional holidays.

Գերազանց Ուսում Հայեցի Դաստիարակութիւն Տիպար Նկարագիր «Հայ աշակերտը Հայօրէն կը մեծնայ միայն Հայ Դպրոցին մէջ» նշանաբանէն մեկնած, 1979 թուականին, Հայ Կեդրոնի երդիքին տակ, հիմը կը դրուի ՀՕՄի Ամէնօրեայ Վարժարանին՝ մանկապարտէզի երեք եւ նախակրթարանի երկու կարգերով: Ապա, տարուէ տարի, բարերարներու եւ պատասխանատուներու ճիգերով եւ ծնողներու զոհողութեամբ, նոր կարգեր կ’աւելնալնան եւ վարժարանը կը դառնայ երկրորդական՝ կրելով ՀՕՄի Պապայեան Մանկապարտէզ, Գոլոլեան Նախակրթարան եւ Երկրորդական Վարժարան անունը: 2013 թուականին կ’աւելնայ մանկամսուրի բաժինը՝ 18 ամսականէն 3 տարեկան երեխաներու համար: Վարժարանէն ներս, հայ աշակերտը կը հետեւի Օնթարիոյի պետական ուսումնական ծրագիրին: Սակայն վարժարանի սրբազան նպատակն է ջամբել հայեցի դաստիարակութիւն, առանց որուն կը կորսուի հայկական նկարագիրն ու ինքնութիւնը: Վարժարանի ուոսումնական ծրագիրը, ակադեմականին հետ զուգընթաց, զարկ կու տայ ընկերային, մարզական եւ գիտական նորարութիւններուն: Վարժարանը, ներկայիս, Թորոնթոյի հայկական միակ ամէնօրեայ վարժարանն է, 616 աշակերտներով եւ 570 շրջանաւարտներով: Վերջիններուն զաւակները արդէն հասած են դպրոցական տարիք եւ կը յաճախեն ՀՕՄի Պապայեան Մանկապարտէզ, Գոլոլեան Նախակրթարան եւ Երկրորդական Վարժարան: Շրջանաւարտ աշակերտներ նաեւ մաս կը կազմեն վարժարանի ուսուցչական կազմին, տնօրէնութեան, կրթական մարմինին եւ տարեկան հանգանակային արշաւի յանձնախումբին:

Academic Excellence, Armenian Education and Exemplary Character Development - It is with this vision that in 1979, the A.R.S. Armenian Private School was established. With its beginnings as a Kindergarten and two elementary classes, today, the institution has grown to one of the largest co-educational and bicultural day schools in North America, teaching students from preschool through grade 12. A nursery program was implemented in 2013 catering to children from 18 months to 3 years of age.

The Armenian language, cultural and religious studies are weaved into the general curriculum in adherence with the Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines. Currently, as Toronto’s only Armenian educational institution, the A.R.S. Armenian Private School boasts a student body of over 616 students and 570 graduates. Many of the graduates are now parents to a new generation of students and hold important positions within the administration, staff and Board of Trustees of the school.

The Armenian Community of Toronto Senior Citizens Association is one of the most active organizations in the Armenian community of Toronto.

Armenian seniors gather at the Armenian Community Centre every Tuesday where they hold weekly gatherings, celebrate birthdays and Armenian holidays and host guest speakers. The association also raises funds for various community projects and organizes day trips for its membership.

As the elders of the Armenian community of Toronto, the members of the Senior Citizens Association serve as an example to the new generation of the Armenian community of Toronto.

«Բարձրացի՛ր, Բարձրացո՛ւր» նշանաբանին հաւատարիմ, եւ ապագայ տիպար հայորդիներ պատրաստելու իր առաքելութեան համաձայն, ՀՄԸՄ Թորոնթոյի մասնաճիւղը կը գործէ մարզական եւ սկաուտական զոյգ թեւերով: ՀՄԸՄ Թորոնթոն կը հաշուէ 646 անդամ: Սկաուտական շարքերը կ’ընդգրկեն մոկլիները, գայլիկ-արծուիկները, արի-արենոյշները եւ երէցպարմանուհիները, որոնց հաւաքները տեղի կ’ունենան կիրակի օրերը: Մարզական փորձերը (Սաքըր, Պասքէթպոլ, Վոլիպոլ, Ֆլոր Հաքի)՝ շաբթուան եօթ օրերու վրայ բաժնուած ժամանակացոյցով, տեղի կ’ունենան ՀՄԸՄի մարզադաշտին մէջ: Սկաուտական եւ մարզական գործունէութիւններու ծիրէն ներս, ՀՄԸՄ Թորոնթոն կը մասնակցի համահայկական խաղերուն եւ քառամեայ դրութեամբ սկաուտական համաՀՄԸՄական բանակումին՝ Հայաստանի մէջ: ՀՄԸՄ Թորոնթոն նաեւ կը կազմակերպէ A Run to Remember վազքի մրցում-դրամահաւաքը, տարեկան պարահանդէս, դաշտագնացութիւն, մարզական խաղեր եւ սկաուտական բանակումներ:

The motto of the Homenetmen General Athletic and Scouting Organization is “elevate yourself… to elevate others.” It is with that spirit that the organization has been functioning in Toronto since 1969, with a total current membership of over 600. Scouting meetings take place every Sunday, while Homenetmen athletic groups, including soccer, basketball, KingFu, volleyball and floor hockey teams, hold practices throughout the week at the Homenetmen Toronto Gymnasium. The organization also proudly participates in the Pan-Homenetmen Jamborees and Athletic games in Armenia.

More recently, Homenetmen Toronto has organized the annual “A Run to Remember”, a charity run at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. The organization also holds annual dinner-dances, picnics, athletic tournaments and scout camps throughout the year.

Համազգայինի առաքելութեան համաձայն, Թորոնթոյի «Գլաձոր» մասնաճիւղը կը պահպանէ եւ կը տարածէ Հայ Մշակոյթը եւ կը յայտնաբերէ տաղանդներ, արուեստի բոլոր բնագաւառներէն ներս: Պարարուեստի Ուսումնարանի եւ «Էրեբունի» Պարախումբի դասընթացքներուն եւ գործունէութիւններուն աշխուժօրէն կը հետեւին աւելի քան 80 աշակերտներ եւ պարողներ: Մանկապատանեկան Երգչախումբի եւ «Գուսան» Երէցներու Երգչախումբի անդամներուն թիւը կը թեւակոխէ 50ը: Մասնաճիւղը ունի երէցներու եւ փոքրերու զոյգ գեղարուեստի աշխատանոցներ: Գեղանկարչութեան յանձնախումբը կը կազմկերպէ հայրենի արուեստագէտներու գործերու ցուցահանդէսներ: Իսկ իւրաքանչիւր աշնան, թորոնթոհայութիւնը անհամբեր կը սպասէ «Նուռ Ֆիլմի Փառատօն»ը, որ գաղութիս կը հրամցնէ հայկական թեմաներով կամ հայ արուեստագէտներու ֆիլմեր: Համազգայինի «Յարութիւն Մանուկեան» գրադարանը կը գտնուի Հայ Կեդրոնէն ներս, ուր տեղադրուած են աւելի քան 3000 հայերէն գիրքեր: Կարելի է գնել կամ փոխ առնել գիրքեր: Գրադարան-գրատարած յանձնախումբը կը կազմակերպէ նոր գիրքերու ներկայացումներ եւ գինեձօններ, գրադարանէն ներս, իսկ գրական յանձնախումբը հետեւողական դրութեամբ հանդիպումներ կը կազմակերպէ, ներկայացնելով Հայ գրականութեան փայլուն դէմքերը: Ներկայացնողները միշտ գաղութիս երիտասարդ դէմքերն են: Եւ վերջապէս, «Ժորժ Սարգիսեան» թատերախումբը, մասնաճիւղիս հիմնադրութեան օրէն, գաղութիս կը հրամցնէ ներկայացումներ իսկ «Դէմ Դիմակ» թատերական յանձնախումբը կը ներկայացնէ եւ կը հիւրընկալէ այլազան թատերախաղեր ու երաժշտական խումբեր, «Համազգային» թատերասրահէն ներս:

The Hamazkayin Armenian Cultural and Educational Society’s mission is to foster and promote the Armenian culture across the world. Since its inception in 1969, the Toronto chapter of Hamazkayin has grown to become a vibrant presence in the community, with over 180 active members and volunteers throughout its various committees.

‘Klatsor’, as the chapter was named later, is currently home to the Hamazkayin Dance Institute, ‘Erepouni’ Dance Ensemble, ‘Georges Sarkisian’ Theatre, Two Masks Theatre, ‘Arshile Gorky’ Art Studio, Hamazkayin Youth Choir, ‘Haroutiun Manougian’ Library and ‘Pomegranate Film Festival; the chapter also has active Literary and Library committees.

The Hamazkayin Dance Institute and ‘Erepouni’ Dance Ensemble consist of over 80 students and dancers, ages 6 and up, while the Hamazkayin Youth Choir consists of over 50 singers.

Practices take place throughout the week, at the Armenian Youth Centre. The chapter also holds art classes for both children and adults throughout the week, and several art exhibitions are held throughout the year, showcasing the artwork of international Armenian artists.

Համազգայինի Պարարուեստի Ուսումնարանը կը բաղկանայ 6 տարեկանէն վեր, թիւով 150-է աւելի հաշուող փոքրերէ ու պատանիներէ: Ուսումնարանին նպատակն է հայ պարարուեստը փոխանցել ապագայ սերունդին։ Մասնակցողները բաժնուած են զանազան խումբերու, տարիքի հիման վրայ։ Համազգայինի «Էրեբունի» Պարախումբին մաս կը կազմեն 16 տարեկանէն վեր պատանիներ ու երիտասարդներ, որոնք մեծ մասամբ հունձքն են Համազգայինի Պարարուեստի Ուսումնարանին։ 2010-էն ի վեր, Ուսումնարանի եւ Պարախումբի պարուսոյցն ու գեղարուեստական ղեկավարն է Լոռի Նաճարեան։ Լոռի պարարուեստի զանազան մարզերուն քաջածանօթ է, ինչպէս պալէ եւ ճազ. հայկական պարի սիրահար՝ ան Երեւանի մէջ հետեւած եւ ամբողջացուցած է Երեւանի պարարուեստի պետական ուսումնարանի դասընթացքներու շարքը, վկայուելով իբր պարուսոյց եւ մենակատար։ Համազգայինի «Էրեբունի» պարախումբը իր տարեկան ելոյթներուն առընթեր, մասնակ ցած է զանազան գեղարուեստական երեկոներու եւ տօնակատարութիւններու. օրինակ՝ Հ.Հ. եւ Արցախի անկախութեանց տարեդարձներու նուիրուած ձեռնարկներ, ՀՕՄի Տոհմիկ Օրեր, ՀՄԸՄ-ի խաղերու շաբաթավերջ, Հայ Կեդրոնի Ամառնային եւ Ձմեռնային փառատօններ, Armenian Heritage Day - Air Canada Centre, Հայաստանի անկախութիւններուն նուիրուած տօնակատարութիւններու եւ այլ: CANADA DAY TORONTO

The Hamazkayin Dance Academy and “Erepuni” Dance Ensemble of the Klatsor chapter of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, aim at promoting Armenian folk dance among our youth.

With over 150 members the Dance Academy and “Erepuni” Dance Ensemble work hand in hand to pass on our traditional dances to the next generation. The Hamazkayin Dance Academy consists of participants ages 6 and up,. Practicesessions are held throughout the week. The “Erepuni” Dance Ensemble, consists of well-trained, talented group of dancers, ages 16 and up.

In 2010, Toronto born Lori Najarian assumed the roles of Dance Instructor and Artistic Director. Lori studied jazz and ballet in Toronto and subsequently broadened her talents and experience by specializing in Armenian dance in Yerevan, Armenia.

In addition to its annual performances and numerous appearances during community events, “Erepuni” has performed in front of Canadian audiences in Ottawa, Hamilton, Cambridge, and has represented the Canadian Armenian community in Armenia and Georgia. Noteworthy are their participations in events such as the Ara Gevorgyan concert at Roy Thomson Hall, the Nune Yesayan concert, Summerfests and Winterfests, ASA Pangea in Hamilton, Air Canada Centre and Armenian Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremonies at Markham City Hall.

Their annual performance in June 2015 entitled “Spirit of a Nation” was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Their 2016 annual showcase is entitled “Dance Is…” .

Our History January 14, 1933 is marked as the founding date of the Armenian Youth Federation. On this day, the ARF Central Committee of America decided to create a national youth organization by combining already existing ones and forming new chapters where such groups did not exist. A national convention was held in June 1934, at which time the election of the first Central Executive took place. The organization attracted thousands of members and supporters in its first year. ARF Tseghagron Oukhdyalner was renamed Armenian Youth Federation in 1941. As the years progressed and the AYF’s ranks swelled with new members, an administrative reform took place in 1974. The result of this restructuring was the division of the AYF – which had up to this point encompassed all of North America – into three separate regions: the Eastern and Western United States, and Canada.

Politics Committee AYF Canada works closely with the Armenian National Committee to raise political awareness in the community at large. By promoting political activism among its members, the organization prepares Armenian-Canadian youth to become the future advocates of the Armenian cause.

Throughout the past year, the Toronto "Simon Zavarian� chapter primarily focused its political efforts on issues pertaining to the rememberance of the Armenian Genocide, including organizing the protest at the Turkish Embassy in Ottawa and other displays around the city, displaying banners over major Toronto highways, and organizing events aimed at raising awareness about the Armenian Genocide in Toronto.

Social Committee AYF Canada works hard to unite the Canadian-Armenian youth in an Armenian atmosphere. By organizing social gatherings throughout the year, the organization attracts thousands of Armenian youth around the Armenian community through Armenian music, dance and food.

Throughout the past year, the Toronto "Simon Zavarian” chapter organized its yearly Christmas Disco, its annual dinner dance, and a summer party, which specifically targeted the community’s youth.

Through intimate gatherings and events, AYF members create bonds and friendships that last a lifetime. Over the past year, the “Simon Zavarian” chapter organized its annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners, the annual Ski Weekend, and Foosball tournament, all geared towards AYF members.

Outreach Committee AYF Canada works hard to educate its members and the Canadian-Armenian youth at large. Through seminars, meetings and educational events, members acquire a vast knowledge about Armenian history, human rights, Armenian politics and others issues pertaining to Armenia and the Armenian people. Through the organization, they are also able to exchange ideas and come up with innovative solutions to problems today’s Armenian youth faces in the diaspora and in the homeland.

AYF Canada also continuously engages the Armenian youth at large in issues pertaining to Armenia and the Armenian people, through lectures, round-table discussions, social media and other educational events and initiatives. Over the past year, the “Simon Zavarian” chapter organized a lecture about identity and Western Armenian, regular meetings and educational seminars, as well as printed new chapter sweaters.

AYF Winterfest AYF Winterfest is a festival of food, art, and Canadian and Armenian culture. A small group of AYF members came together in 2009 with an idea to bring together Armenian youth in a distinctly winter atmosphere in order to celebrate Canadian-Armenian culture. After its inaugural success, the Armenian Youth Federation saw the need to pursue Winterfest as one of its yearly traditions. Just as its name intends, AYF Winterfest is a celebration of winter, proving that for Canadians, outdoor activities are not just reserved for summer.

Ardziv Ardziv magazine is Canada’s only Armenian trilingual quarterly magazine and the official publication of AYF Canada. The magazine is distributed free of charge within the community with 1000 copies dispersed between the Armenian community centres of Toronto, Montreal, Laval, Cambridge, Hamilton and St. Catherines. The magazine is also spread digitally to online subscribers via our website (www.ardziv.org), and advertised through various social media platforms.

Վանաձորի Ճամբար 2011 թուականի ամրան, խումբ մը ՀՅԴ ԳԵՄականներ մեկնեցան Հայաստան եւ Վանաձոր քաղաքի մէջ իրականացուցին պատանեկան ճամբարի մը ծրագիրը՝ ՀՅԴ ԳԵՄ Վանաձորի Ճամբարը։ Երկու շաբաթուան ընթացքին, 90 Վանաձորցի պատանիներ ու երիտասարդներ մասնակցեցան այս ճամբարին: Անոնք օգտուեցան ճամբարի անվճար եւ ճոխ ծրագրէն, որ կ’ընդգրկէր համակարգիչի դասեր, անգլերէնի ուսուցում, արուեստի ու ձեռային աշխատանքի պահեր, ինչպէս նաեւ զանազան խաղեր: Այս տարի եւս Վանաձորի մէջ ՀՅԴ ԳԵՄը կը կազմակերպէ երկշաբաթեայ ամառնային ճամբար մը, որուն պիտի մասնակցին աւելի քան 400 Վանաձորցի հայ մանուկներ ու պատանիներ:

Camp Vanadzor Since 2011, AYF Canada has established AYF Youth Corps Camp Vanadzor program to encourage our members to strengthen their ties to the homeland and to help improve the lives of those living there. The camp is a special experience for the children, who receive lessons in English, history, computers, health, democracy and human rights. The participants are provided with a daily lunch and a gift such as a backpack. Now in its sixth year, the annual program is a free two-week day camp for the local children of Vanadzor, the third largest city in Armenia. Our members organize the program and volunteer as counselors at the camp. This year, the number of registrations is expected to exceed 400 children.

ՀՅԴ Գանատայի Պատանեկան Միութիւնը (ԳՊՄ) կը հանդիսանայ Գանատահայ պատանին կազմակերպող գլխաւոր ուժը, զանոնք զինելով հայեցի դաստիարակութեամբ եւ ազգային արժէքներով: Այս միութիւններուն մէջ, հայ պատանին կը վարժուի յարգել ընկերներուն կարծիքը, արտայայտել նաեւ սեփական միտքեր, ենթարկուիլ կարգապահութեան եւ կազմակերպել ու գործել հաւաքաբար։ Ասոնց կողքին, անոնք կը տոգորուի ազգային գիտակցութեամբ, մարդու եւ հայու իրաւունքներուն քաջածանօթ կը դառնան, կը մշակուի հաւաքականութեան ծառայելու իր տրամադրութիւնը։ Կը սորվին, որ մաս կը կազմեն իրենց նմաններէ բաղկացած, բայց ընդհանրական նպատակներ հետապնդող մարդոց խումբի մը, ժողովուրդի մը, ազգի մը։ Պատանեկան «Ռոստոմ» (7-12 տարեկան) եւ «Քրիստափոր» (12-16 տարեկան) միութիւններու հաւաք-ժողովները տեղի կ’ունենան ուրբաթ օրերը: Այս ժողովներու ընթացքին, անոնք կը ծանօթանան մեր պատմութեան, կը սորվին ու կ’երգեն ազգային-յեղափոխական երգեր, կը դիտեն դաստիարակչական տեսերիզներ եւ կը խաղան դաստիարակչական խաղեր: Կը կազմակերպեն ընկերային եւ քարոզչական տարբեր ձեռնարկներ ու պտոյտներ: Կը մասնակցին տարեկան երկու բանակումներու եւ երկամեայ դրութեամբ՝ Հայաստանագնացութեան: Պատանեկան տարեշրջանը կ’երկարի Սեպտեմբերէն Յունիս: Արձանագրութեան համար կարելի է գրել arfjoc.rosdom1@gmail. com or christapor.arfjoc@gmail.com հասցէներուն:

The Armenian Youth Federation Juniors Organization of Canada (AYF JOC) brings together Armenian youth and promotes amity among all Armenians in order to engender a mutual commitment for a united, free, and independent Armenia. AYF JOC fosters nationalistic pride among all Armenian youth through educational, political, cultural, athletic, and social activities.

The Junior group, “Rosdom” (ages 7-12) and “Krisdapor” (ages 12-16) chapters, meet every Friday. During the meetings, they learn about the history of Armenia, sing patriotic songs, watch educational documentaries or movies and play games. They also organize outdoor activities and social events. The juniors all across Canada participate in seminars, twice a year and organize trips to Armenia, every other year.

Over several decades after its founding, the AYF JOC stands prepared to adapt to changing times and meet the needs of the community at large. Knowing full well that its future rests in the hands of active Armenian youth lending their support and becoming involved in the organization, the AYF strives to reach a new generation of young Armenians and introduce vibrant programs relevant to current times.

This Armen Karo Students Association (AKOM) was founded in July 2005, bringing together students of Armenian origin in Canada looking to serve the principles of respect for human rights, academic integrity and a free, independent and united Armenia and work towards the ideals. The nom-de-guerre of national hero Karekin Pastermadjian was chosen in order to highlight a devotion to human rights, academic success and political engagement.

Armen Karo Student Association’s mission is to assist Armenian Student Associations at Canadian universities, to promote Armenian studies on university campuses, and to mobilise our communities in furthering the Armenian Cause through political, academic and intellectual means on a local, provincial and national level.

About Us The Armenian National Committee of Toronto is a chapter of the Armenian National Committee of Canada, a grassroots organization that was founded in 1965 to address the concerns of the Canadian Armenian community on a broad range of issues.

The main goals of the ANCT are: • To foster public awareness in support of a free, united and independent Armenia • To influence and guide Canadian policy on matters of interest to the Armenian community • To represent the collective Armenian Canadian viewpoint on matters of public policy, while serving as liaison between the community and their elected officials Highlights of ANCT's achievements include: 1. Recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Canadian Senate on June 13, 2002.

2. Recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the House of Commons of Canada on April 21, 2004.

3. Inclusion of Armenian Genocide studies as part of the grade 11 curriculum at the Toronto District School Board in 2008.

4. The House of Commons reaffirmed its commitment for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide resolution adopted on April 21, 2004 calling upon the government to honour the victims of all genocides by recognizing the month of April as Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation and Prevention Month; and acknowledging Armenian Genocide Memorial Day on April 24.

5. The Armenian Genocide Memorial Forest, located in Ashton Meadows Park in the City of Markham. 100 trees of 13 species will be planted in honour of the Centennial Of the Armenian Genocide .
