ORLANDO HAPPENINGS ARTFUL STRINGS: FOUR CENTURIES OF HARP MAKING At Albin Polasek Museum - Continuing thru April 15 In a collaborative exhibition with The International Harp Museum, the Polasek Museum will present 50 harps from the IHM’s collection dating from the 18th century to 21st century. Along with American and European instruments, there will also be examples of ancient African, Asian and Egyptian harps, vintage photos, artwork, costumes and jewelry. A deconstructed harp display will provide visitors with the opportunity to experience first-hand all the components necessary to construct a harp. This will be an interactive, hands-on installation allowing each person to try playing the harp themselves. for one night only on Saturday, February 4. Local Parrotheads won’t want to miss their chance to soak in the full Margaritaville experience. Encores, Jimmy’s newest release is a live, acoustic double CD, featuring 22 of Jimmy’s intimate, final encore songs recorded in different U.S. cities, as well as Paris during his 2009 tour. This unique collection showcases Jimmy acoustic songs (12 songs), includes several special guests and is unlike anything he’s previously released. ORLANDO SHAKESPEARE THEATER PRESENTS “ROMEO AND JULIET” AND “CYMBELINE,” - Feb. 10 March 18.
