Embracing Life’s Journey Sharon Armstrong and Kathryn Bishop, Owners of Embrace Life, began their journey in 2009 with a shared vision for providing families with a welcoming health centre that provides a variety of health choices.

Embrace Life is a multi-modality centre providing physiotherapy, chiropractic, remedial massage, naturopathy, psychology, podiatry, acupuncture and child health services.

Over the last five years, they have taken a small clinic and turned it into a successful well known health and wellness centre in North Lakes.

The team started with only 2 part time Chiropractors and 1 part time Massage Therapist and now

consists of a team of more than 20 people. They have experienced growth every year and continue to build momentum.

Their passion remains the same, which is focused on helping families to make educated health choices in a non-judgemental nurturing environment.

The growth journey has not been easy and the business has faced considerable challenges along the way.

One of the most challenging issues facing any business is to establish how much to charge for products and services. There is a temptation to discount your product or service in the face of competition or reducing sales. This strategy may work in the short term but everything has a price and if you reduce your prices you need to be aware of the impact on your business.

To use an example, if a shopkeeper has a 30% profit margin, and reduces prices by 10% the effect on the business will be: • He would need to increase sales by 50% just to recover the same profit that he had before the discount.

• Instead of selling 10 items at full price he needs to sell 15 items at a 10% discount to make the same profit.

Jetty to Jetty run away success!

Registrations open for 2015 Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run Whether you train all year round, or have set yourself a new fitness goal for 2015, it’s time to pull out your running shoes and start training for the Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run.

“This is the first time we have been able to offer prize money, and it’s about time that we offer this to the more serious runners who compete on the annual running calendar,” explains Kate.

The region’s most popular fun run is back in 2015, and online registrations for Jetty 2 Jetty are now open.

“Each year we see a diverse range of people, of all ages, having a bit of fun – with everyone from BallyCara residents, mother groups, businesses and fitness groups – it really is such a varied group of participants which is just great to see,” said Kate.

With four race categories, including the half marathon (21km), 10km, 5km or 3km, Race Director Kate Jackson guarantees that there is a race to suit everybody, and every fitness level.

“Over 4,000 runners take part in the Jetty 2 Jetty each year, and we have people running for all different reasons; whether to challenge themselves, beat their time last year, or to have a bit of fun,” she said.

For the first time in 2015, Jetty 2 Jetty will offer a cash prize pool valued at $6,800 to attract serious runners from throughout South-East Queensland.

The prize pool for the half marathon is available to male and female winners, with a massive $1,000 for first place, $600 for second place and $400 for third place.

For the first time this year, each entrant in the half marathon or 10km category will receive a free Jetty 2 Jetty singlet as part of their registration.

Entrants in the 5km and 3km categories will receive a Jetty 2 Jetty visor.
