to the Spring Buzz It’s been a busy time in Albany Creek and this Spring issue of the Buzz is packed with information about what’s happening in the coming months.

First of all we want to thank everyone who donated to “Walk for Youngcare” it was a fantastic effort and the Albany Creek Community really got behind the event and have now raised enough money for Albany Creek Youngcare to purchase the special purpose vehicle they so badly need. We have two pages about Youngcare see pages 13 and 49.

The Albany Creek Fair was held on May 28th and it was a fantastic day, you can see all the photos of the Big Buzz Dog on page 56 and 57.

Don’t miss the Eatons Hill Space Carnival which will be a great day out for the family on Saturday 2nd September all the details are on page 20.

The ‘Walk for Youngcare’ charity event and fundraising was a great success and has raised almost $27,000 for a new special purpose vehicle. Youngcare Albany Creek will now purchase the vehicle which will be used by the residents in Albany Creek. The vehicle is fitted with a special wheel chair lift which will mean easier access for the residents. A big thank you to our local member Tim Mander who came up with the concept and organised the walk. Rotary’s Road Safety Youth Driver Awareness Program RYDA - A program designed for 16 -18-year-old students who are approaching that crucial time in their lives when they start to drive independently or are travelling as passengers of novice drivers. The flagship RYDA Program is delivered each year to over 50,000 senior high school students from more than 650 participating schools.

It is with pride that the Rotary Club of Albany Creek established and now manages the RYDA program, delivered on the North side of Brisbane at the Bracken Ridge TAFE College.
