Eustis High School As we head into the final weeks of the school year, yes we’re down to the final nine weeks; I pause to consider all the great things that have occurred at Eustis High School this year. Our students have accomplished so much; the Panther Pantry is the envy of everyone, the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets spread Panther love throughout our community, we have students representing us at Boys and Girls State, several activities were organized to raise funds to assist students and families who were experiencing medical emergencies, Toys-for-Tots, tutoring at our elementary schools, and the list goes on. Academically, Eustis High School raised our school grade to a “B” based on the hard work of the Administration, faculty, staff, and most importantly our students. This year we have students attending, in addition to the great Florida Institutions of Higher Learning, schools

like Columbia and the Naval Academy, and too many others to mention. Athletically, well, we won our first Homecoming game in a number of years while celebrating one of the best Homecoming Weeks in years. Our Volleyball and Basketball teams were once again outstanding, as were the efforts of all our student athletes, a number of whom have received full scholarships to continue both their academic and playing careers. Next week is Spring Break where we strongly encourage our students to take a break and reflect on the many blessings they have. When we return, those last nine weeks, will be filled with FCAT Testing, EOC Assessments, AP Exams, and then the always popular, Final Exams, did you think I was going to say Graduation?

Speaking with many of my colleagues I am confident that our students are prepared and will carry us to great heights. We have had the pleasure of serving as a mentor to a great group of students, especially the seniors, as always seems to be the case at EHS. Each year, the complaints of Senioritis are heard throughout the campus, yet when we stop to contemplate their accomplishments we have to marvel at all they have done. We all would like to thank those students who have made a difference in our school, our community, and most importantly in our lives. Class of 2014, thank you, Class of 2015, 2016…you have a tough hill to climb and a legacy to live up to. Mr. Snyder, Editor and Language Arts Department Head
