Group Project Questions Chroma Choreographer: Wayne McGregor OPTION 1: Choreographer of the Dance If your group has decided to research the choreographer of the dance video you chose, then each group member should pick one set of questions from below to address. If you do not have enough group members to cover all the questions, just choose the ones you find most interesting (i.e. only cover as many questions as you have group members). Students may not choose the same topics. Students must address all parts of their selected question below: ● (Ryan Ber) Question 1 - The beginning of their dance training and career: Where did they first go to school, who were their teachers, why did they start to dance, what style(s) of dance did they study, etc. In what ways do you see these influences in the video of the dance you watched? Provide a specific example from the video and reference the time stamp (time in which it occurs) in the video. Consider how their style is similar or different to other choreographers we have discussed in class. ● (Kenzie Harris)Question 2 - Career as a dancer: What companies did they perform with, what schools were they associated with, etc. How might that have influenced the choreography they created in the video you watched?

Provide a specific example from the video and reference the time stamp (time in which it occurs) in the video. Consider how their dance career is similar or different to other choreographers we have discussed in class. Kenzie Harris ● (Delilah Hernandez) Question 3 - Career as a choreographer: When did they begin choreographing, when were they first discovered as a choreographer, what honors have they received, etc. Consider how the dance video you watched demonstrates a specific genre of dance, or style, or quality of movement and discuss how you see that in the dance. Compare a specific example of movement in the video being critiqued to another video you have watched in the course materials and refer to that video by name and module.

Delilah Hernandez ● (Tori Godwin) Question 4 - What articles are written about them: Give a synopsis of the articles found and include a few quotes. Consider published reviews of the specific dance you viewed and write a short response agreeing with or disagreeing with the review and support your assertions with logical reasoning. If you are not able to find a published critique of your specific dance seen in the video, then review the dance video you chose in comparison with a published review of another dance by the same choreographer. ● (Talaya Frazier) Question 5 - Current career status: What is the choreographer doing now? Do they have a company they are associated

with? Discuss how the dance video you viewed compares to their current choreographic work. Is it similar, different, etc? Embed or link a video of another dance by the same choreographer in your post.
