The process stops when both the object and the water have reached the same temperature.

When both the object and water reach an equilibrium, the process of transferring energy will stop.

What is the claim?

The energy flows from the one object to the other object until there is an equal distribution of energy for both objects.

What evidence can be collected that will support the claim?

The temperature of both objects before contact and the temperature of the objects after they have reached equilibrium (same temperature).

The size of the objects must stay constant - size of material/object, amount of liquid in beaker.

1. Chill a metal object in the freezer (or cool the iron block in the simulation) 2. Boil a cup of water (or heat up the water in the simulation) 3. Record the initial temperatures of the object and the water 4. Keep recording the temperatures of water and object every minute 5. Keep recording the temperatures for 3 minutes after they have both come to the same temperature. **The same process can be done if the object is to be heated and the liquid to be cooled.
