American Constructions Inc. Q1: What are the key issues Grott is dealing with?

Grott has to analyze and evaluate the sub-tasks accordingly. This is to determine whether the project will finish on time or not. The due date for the project is December 14th. The remaining tasks have to be listed and analyzed in sub-groups. The underlying main issue facing Grott is to perform all the tasks simultaneously and not affect the general outcome of the entire project. The unrelated tasks are to be carried out simultaneously while those not relate can await the chain process. With simultaneous handling of tasks, the time factor will be taken care of. At the same time, Grott is to ensure the availability and timeliness of the materials to be used for the different processes. Any delay or unavailability of the materials will disrupt the schedule of the workforce and eventually the ACI will be negatively affected. Grott is to also plan and schedule the workforce accordingly. Grott has to oversee completion of two major tasks that include completion of the lobby, sanctuary and the bookstore complex. Initial planning has to be done besides the difficulties it may reflect such as the uncertainty of the availability of the various building materials. The planning on the workforce however has to be done, and Frott has to ensure that all the tasks are carried out at the same time with no crashes and further delays on the set timeline. The project leadership team is to consist of individuals with adequate knowledge, skills and the experience to manage large projects in abandoned locations. 2. Planning phase: the team involved develops a clear project schedule that involves all the different activities of the project. Other factors such as the expenditure and the required materials for the project are calculated.

3. Implementation Phase: the different teams work together to meet the requirements of the project work according to the designs and work plans created during the planning phase.

Changes are also made where the various project objectives of the project are not met.

4. The closing phase: this includes turning over the completed project to the client. The company closes down the extra offices opened in order to finish up the project. The required documents are handed over to the client.

The building will not be fully completed on time. This is according to the GANTT chart. In reference to the project schedule, the construction of the building will be completed but inspection and final touches will not have been completed. Therefore, the building will be usable but the client will not be satisfied.

Q3b. What will be the Grott’s largest challenges and potential problems? How can these be overcome?

Grott’s largest challenge will be adjusting with the uncertainties of the material arrival and other activities involving the project. As the project leader, Grott ought to have a project plan that allows for unexpected outcomes and small differences in the operation of the project. The unexpected outcomes if not handled well could lead to the failure of the entire project. Hence, the solution is to make prior flexible plans.
