Superlatives are idiotic; The Best is a label that, despite its recent revival, saw its better days between the decline of the electric health belt and · the discovery of Florida. Understatement, rather than exaggeration is now the vogue in all regions north of Georgia's southern boundary. And what happens beyond that makes no difference. I perhaps may be excused, therefore, if I somewhat understate this case. To say that Estes Park, Colorado, is The Best place to hold an Acacia Grand Conclave would be as ridiculous as to aver that Campbell's is the only soup, in the face of Van Camp's and Heinz's 57· But this I can say truthfully: that, as publicity representative for an international social and character-building organization, I have tried conventioning in many spots, from Washington, D.
