ABUNDANT LIFE FAITH CENTRE

Imagine being arrayed before a court of law and having to singularly defend yourself against an irritated and bitter mob of elders. And just as you are beginning to make your arguments before the judge, you notice your accusers suddenly descending into a war of words and a fistfight amongst themselves.
If that sounds like a movie, I have news for you. Stop imagining. That’s a real-life account. It is the story of the Apostle Paul and the power of the resurrected life that is available to every believer in the Church. God intervened on behalf of the Apostle Paul when he was facing a gang of religious extremists determined to kill him for his unwavering stand for the gospel.
How did God do it? He gave the Apostle Paul a witty invention right in the middle of a very tight spot, when he was between a rock and a hard place. I am sure the Apostle Paul had his attention fully tuned in to his spirit for him to have been able to instantly pick up divine instructions from God in such a tense moment. That’s how wisdom from above works (Proverbs 8:12)
Here’s how the Bible describes Paul’s response in the heat of the moment: “…when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.” (Acts 23:6-8).
As a result of Paul’s timely and perfect execution of the above divine idea, the Bible tells us “…there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, we find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God. And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.” (Acts 23: 9-10).
What an awesome turn of events in the favour of a man that was clearly outnumbered by his enemies. That tells us the resurrected Christ that we celebrate is more than a historical figure. He is a very present helper in everyday affairs of believers who have a real and deep knowledge of Him.
God is no respecter of persons. What He did for the Apostle Paul, He can do for you too. Like Paul, let’s aim to deepen our fellowship with God’s Spirit and His word. That way, we shall be able to clearly pickup and execute divine instructions during the pleasant and difficult moments of life.

I echo Paul’s prayer for you as you read this! I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

matter. She was in and out of court many times. One time her sister and elder brother ended up being brutally battered by their accusers on their way to a court hearing. At some point, she nearly gave up. It was then that some church members hand held her and stood with her in prayer. She was comforted by the word in Jeramiah 32:27 and believed that nothing was impossible for her Lord. More cases were birthed from these land wrangles, and these lengthened their court ordeals. At the beginning of 2025, Joy wrote this on her vision board: “I desire a complete and victorious conclusion of the court case,” and prayed over it. The Lord answered her prayer. On the morning of 28th March, the court ruled in her favour and put an end to this longtime contention. Praise be to God.
Kiira, Nakawa| Wycliffe has a brother who lives abroad. A few months ago, this brother developed great discomfort in his body; at one time he suffered severe chest pain and shortness of breath. So, he went to hospital and ran several tests on his body to establish the cause of his discomfort, but the tests turned out negative. The doctors couldn’t point out the exact issue then. A few weeks later, they finally discovered what it was. The doctor explained that he was supposed to have died about three years back. His pulmonary artery had developed a clot. The doctor said this clot was a few seconds away from getting into the heart, but it got clogged somewhere and dried there by itself. His body created a bypass for blood to get to his heart. The specialist said it was the first time in all his medical career to see such a case – a person whose body beat off a heart attack. He still had the dried clot in his vein, yet blood continued to flow to his heart which worked efficiently. Science couldn’t explain what had happened. In his words, “It can only be God who did this." Praise be to His name.
