EDITOR’S NOTE

2022, We awake to a whole new beginning, a chance to start over and re-write your story or rather live it out. It does not matter how hard or good the past year was, it’s all behind us now. Our best option is to move forward, how do we do that? First we revisit our vision, goals and priorities.

Like Habakkuk 2:2 says, “…write the vision down; make it plain on tables that He may run that readeth it”. We paint a picture of what the year should look like and build towards achieving that picture. In doing so, we are redeeming time which translates into actualizing purpose here on earth.

Truly that ought to bring a smile to your face. We wish you the best in this New Year as you imprint your life in the lives of others. Bless the world with the facet of God deposited in you, unleashing your potential to solve a need in it. Make a commitment towards seeing your goals accomplished even if it were a little step but in the right direction.

This issue is filled with truths and testimonies to brighten up your day and to birth enough hope in your spirit to ignite a spark that eventually fans the flame in your life all year round. Charge your expectation as you read the workings of God in our church family and believe God to do likewise in your life.

Anything unusual is out of the ordinary, exceptional and different in a way that attracts attention. Angels are real, powerful and a vital part of our lives as believers. God created angels to offer assistance or help his people as potent spiritual beings once deployed.

HEBREWS 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” [NKJV] Throughout scripture we see the “angelic ministry” in force accompanied by extraordinary results. Yes, angels are our servants put at our disposal by God to effectively bring his salvation agenda for us into its fullness; freedom, abundance, peace, joy etc. With the angelic ministry, our protection (Psalms 91:11-12), enforcement of our covenant rights (Psalms 103:20-21), our deliverance (Psalms 34:7) are all catered for in addition to so many other aspects of our lives.

As servants, angels fulfill their mandate upon instruction to them in accordance with the truth of God; they are charged up or provoked into action when the truth of God is declared. As a people, God is reawakening us to the existence of this spiritual resource making us candidates for exceptional activity which characterize the angelic ministry.

As we wholeheartedly connect to His pronouncement over us, we tap into His full intentions in this regard thereby becoming fulltime recipients of the benefits thereof.

The Year of Unusual Angelic Activity is here with us, Believe, Receive, and Have, for you are attracting attention this year.

NEW YEAR REMARKS FROM THE EXECUTIVE MINISTER Time is purpose. God has hidden the purpose for your life in the time He has given you – that includes the Year 2022. Hidden purpose is what we commonly refer to as potential. The Bible calls it a gift.

To go from potential to practice, you need to do your work with all your might. Pay attention: we are talking about your work - not your job. There is a big difference between your work and your job as explained by this classic words from Dr. Myles Munroe: “Your work is not your job. Your job is what they pay you to do; your work is what you were born to do.”

Have you already started your work? If so, I have good news for you. The will of God is for you to finish your work with distinction; and He has supplied the resources for that to happen as revealed in these words from 1 Peter 5:10: “...may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”

(NKJV).

So, arm yourself with the shield of faith and a mindset of victory over every resistance and opposition to your work in 2022, and your nation and generation will be thankful to God for the difference in their lives because of your gift.

THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD January, 2022, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso: Barnabas, a long time serving member of ALFC Church testifies of the goodness of the Lord in His life. He affirms that he has not only heard of God’s goodness but experienced it first-hand in 2021. God provided everything that his heart desired, provided financially, emotionally, socially and spiritually. He narrates that in the year 2019 he felt led to embark on the journey of marriage, he confided in Dr. Handle Leslie (of blessed memory) who encouraged him and prayed with him. Dates were set for the marriage ceremonies despite the covid era. He testifies that on 2nd May 2021, he visited his wife’s parents and expressed his interest to marry their daughter. On 4th September 2021, the traditional marriage was held and on 27th November they were wedded in church. Indeed, God did it for him. He thanks God for the ALFC family that stood with him in immeasurable ways.

Barnabas also thanks God for divinely healing his mother who was almost at a point of death. God graced him with a sober mind and a praying church family in such a difficult time. In four days his mother was discharged from hospital.

RESTORED BACK TO LIFE January, 2022, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso: Rosemary thanks God for restoring her back to life. She is indeed a living testimony of the love and mercy of God. On 21st December 2021, while at home, Rosemary lost consciousness and was no longer responding. She was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. She was put on oxygen immediately since she could not breathe on her own. The doctors (one of whom was her niece) worked tirelessly to resuscitate her. She thanks God for the ALFC family who stood in fervent prayer. She notes that the prayers of the saints pulled her from the grave and thanks God for His provision; settled all her bills. Rosemarycelebrates the faithfulness of the Lord in her life and confidently declares that she will live to testify of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. She declares the year 2022 to be a year of progressing, praising and serving the Lord all the more.

IDENTIFYING YOUR PURPOSE I believe that your gift is something that you are good at and enjoy. It resonates with you, and you are drawn to it and do it with little effort.

I welcome you to dust off your dreams and explore your imagination. Do some soul-searching and find out what your purpose or gift is.

Here are ways to help figure that out: 1 What are my passions? What are those things that you are excited about? What are those things in your family, community or church that you long to make right? What would you do for free? Your passions can give you a clue on what your purpose is in life

Dissatisfaction and discomfort. If you have that nagging feeling of “oh this job again” when the alarm clock goes off in the morning or feel disturbed by things like litter in your community, your heart may be speaking to you and stirring you to something inborn.

Relationships. What relationships are you cultivating? Some of these can help align you to your purpose.

Ruth was able to find her destiny by sticking with Naomi (Ruth1:16-17).

Timothy by keeping with Paul (Phil2:20-23) and Elisha by stubbornly following hard after Elijah (1kings19:19-21). The right relationships can stir you towards fulfilling your assignment in life.

4 Past experiences. Look through your life and reflect on the experiences that have shaped who you are (the good, the bad and the ugly). The pain you experienced may produce in you compassion for those going through the same. When you see them in their struggles, your heart is moved towards them and that’s how you can minister to them. This too can be a pointer to your purpose and gifting.

5 Your Gifts. Everyone has a special gift (Romans 12: 6-8 and 1 Peter 4:10).

God uses these gifts to fulfill the purpose of your life. When showing mercy to others (care takers, nurses) or teaching others comes natural for you, it can be a pointer to your purpose. This also applies to different kinds of talents such as comedy. A comedian that brings laughter and cheer to lives under the anointing is engaged in ministry.

What areas have people encouraged or affirmed you in? For example, may be every time you cook food people love to eat it, or when you get in a place you bring chaotic things to order. People usually recognize this and affirm you along the way. This can be a good indicator of where your purpose lies.
