Spring 2017
REVIEW/ 01 INTRODUCTION
01. INTRODUCTION Labor market is now conquered by IT specialists. Programmers are on the top of the most wanted employees in 2017 and belong to very demanding professional group. According to HR specialists’ foresight all over the world there will be a shortage of over a million of programmers until the end of 2020. This gap in IT market will become greater with time. As Absolvent.pl Group, which has been effectively recruiting for over 7 years, we have noticed this trend. Code Europe, the programming conference merged with career fairs for IT specialists, is our response to a demand of employers. Code Europe has attracted the attention of thousands of specialists and employers even during the I edition in December 2016 in Cracow and Warsaw. What is more, it was named by them the largest event in IT industry in Poland. 9408 attendees took part in Code Europe spring edition, that is over 40% more than last year. Being aware of a fact that in constantly changing IT industry a development is essential, we have provided you with a proven knowledge transferred by 145 speakers of all over the world. At the conference there were held 182 workshops and lectures concerning 42 technologies.

REVIEW/ 01 INTRODUCTION
In the agenda of the event have also appeared particular panel discussions: “Women in IT” and “Artificial intelligence and machine learning – how do they change our world?”. It is our response to the labor market in IT, which does not have to be as male-dominated as it is, because there are many good female programmers. The second panel was devoted to the artificial intelligence – do they really exist and how to create them. The heads of the most appreciated IT companies have taken part in both panels. They have presented their own perspective concerning the labor market in IT and current changes. In Career Development Zone attendees have talked to the representatives of 70 companies. A tremendous interest in the entrepreneurs’ exhibition space demonstrates that IT specialists are open to a contact with prospective employers. As much as 80% of the Code Europe attendees claim that direct meetings are crucial step in accepting a job offer. The report has been prepared on the basis of the questionnaires summarizing Code Europe. Questions with only one and multiply answers were included. They were responded by over 750 attendees participating in the event on the 26th of April, and the 23rd and 25th of May 2017. See you in autumn!
