Dance

by Mckayla Faye

Flow. Air and Body Youth and Courage Everything is done in Dance. Dawn breaks, high tides Doves soaring through sky Taking the body of all earth Early rain Chained up Screaming for help Laughing for love Dancing for Faith Given courage Given Hate But, I appreciate Clouds, The deep side The blueness The salt The sand Scrubbing my feet Dancing rocks Soft seaweed Movement all around Dancing in the moment Singing to the sun Acting for the moonshine Speaking for us Giving lavish love Having magnanimous days.

Flying Over the Sky by Ashanti Colman

I fell to the ground I got up...but as much as I tried I just fell again I just wanted to be that talented girl I thought I was And then....I got up... I started learning and taking risks, graduating. I got stronger...I did it!! I made it! Flying over the sky.. Looking down over at the fears of my past This is the new me... The one I want to be!!

Legacies are made to inspire . . .empower. . . elighten. Dreams are created to fill in the blanks. Fears are instilled so you find a way to overcome them. We were put on this earth to leave a mark. We must overcome those fears and create new dreams. -- Niisa Jones (with input from Jaylene Badillo and Odyssey Martin)
