Loette averts pregnancy in many ways: It impedes the egg release by stopping it maturing. It alters the cervical mucus constancy inhibiting the sperms travel towards egg. It changes the lining of the uterus making it less comfortable for implantation. Other than pregnancy prevention, loette pill is also used to treat moderate acne in women when this has not enhanced with acne treatments applied to the skin and who are also willing to be on a birth control.

Doctor recommending loette:  Your physician may have prescribed loette for another reason.  This medication is available only with a physician’s prescription.  This pill is not expected to affect your capability to drive a car or operate machinery.  Loette is not habit-forming.

Before you take loette: There are certain conditions where females must not take loette contraceptive pill, such as:  Any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet  Any medicine containing levonorgestrel and ethinyloestradiol  Any other similar medications like other oral contraceptives

Some of the signs of an allergic reaction may consist:    

Difficulty breathing or wheezing Shortness of breath Swelling of the tongue, face lips, or other parts of the body Rash, hives, or itching on the skin.

Starting a loette for the first time: 1) On the 1st day of your menstrual cycle, take a pink pill that matches the day of the week from the pink shaded section of the birth control pill blister pack. For instance, if your menstruation begins on a Friday, then take a pink pill marked Friday.

2) Then have one pink pill each day following the arrows so that you are taking the correct pill for the day of the week until all 21 pink pills have gone.

3) Then take one white pill each day for the next 7 days.

4) You will have a ‘withdrawal bleed’, alike menstrual cycle, during the week of the white pills.

Loette tablets effective from the first day of use if begun as recommended.

Going on to further blister packs: On the day after you last white pill, start another pack with a pink pill from the pink shaded section of the blister pack that matches the day of the week. Do this even if you are still bleeding.

If you start taking your new pack late, you should also use an extra non-hormonal procedure of birth control, until a pink pill has been taken daily for 7 days without a break.
