VISION

The main idea for choosing this design for the Camp House in Vagamon is to create an inspiring haven where the client artist can immerse themselves in nature's beauty, find endless inspiration, and cultivate their creativity.The thoughtful separation of public and private spaces ensures that the client have the freedom to retreat into solitude when needed, while also providing opportunities for social interaction and familial bonding. In Duality is not just a place to create; it's a vibrant sanctuary where the artist can thrive, finding the perfect balance between solitude and connection, inspiration and relaxation.

CONCEPT

The ancient Chinese philosophy symbolizing the duality and interconnectedness of nature.Two interconnected but distinct structures representing Yin and Yang elements, seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings.

The Solid Void seperation allows the natural flow of light and air into the blocks.

The entrance provide an axial passage through the shaded deck ends in the infinity pool.

The pool is placed inorder to provide the maximum scenic views. Two blocks are placed on both sides of the axial passage.maintaining the connectivity.

The blocks are oriented in a manner to achive maximum natural shading and natural ventilation optimizing thermal comfort and energy efficiency..

The building is charecterised by its open and airyfeel.

The design of In Duality is my attempt to create an airy open and functional spaces that are well suited for workingandliving in the valleys of Vagamon.

The slope terrain of vagamon, scenic views and the hill valleys provide great oppurtunity for a residential camp house.The building is placed amidst the rich vegetation and the living,bed,dining,aand workspace placed in path for natural ventilation and natural light.

Our vision is to create a distinguished tea haven amidst the natural beautyofVagamon,seamlesslyblendingmoderncomfortwithecoconscious design. Nestled in the lap of nature, our tea shop is envisioned as an architectural marvel, employing rammed earth construction that harmonizes with Vagamon's picturesque landscape.

CONCEPT

Both leaves and buildings share the fundamental goal of maintaining a healthy internal air environment. They achieve this through controlledairflow,albeitwithdistinctapproaches.Leavesrelyonpassivemechanismslikestomataandtranspiration,whilebuildings utilize a combination of passive and active strategies like windows, fans,ducts and Jaalis.

REIMAGINING KERALA TEA SHOP

The pattern of the jaali is derived from the shape of the tea leaf.Just like the airflow between the leaves of a tea plant the air circulates through these jaali pivot windowvs.The window an be rotated on a platform and the space ccn be further used as a

A dedicated space is provided for the tea brewer to brew the tea also to intevract with the customers creating an interactive environment

Kerala's traditional tea shops offer rustic outdoorseating beneath indigenous trees, providing an authentic and relaxed atmosphere for patrons to enjoy their tea.

The jaaliwindows can be opened and closed acting as a semi ipen space.In both open and closed posistion a seating space is provided on the pivoting platform.

Thespaceisdesignedinsuchawaythatthereispropercrossventilationthroughout.Theroofistiltedatanangleof10degrees to provide skylight and added benifit to provide rainwaterharvesting.
