Brick jalis, structures made of bricks, have been used in architecture for centuries, particularly in regions with hot climates like South Asia and the Middle East. Here are some advantages of incorporating brick jalis into building design:
Ventilation: One of the primary benefits of brick jalis is their ability to allow air circulation while providing privacy and security. They facilitate natural ventilation, allowing cool air to enter the building while expelling hot air, thus helping to maintain a comfortable indoor environment without the need for mechanical ventilation systems.
Daylighting: Brick jalis can filter natural light entering the building, creating a diffused lighting effect. This helps reduce the need for artificial lighting during the daytime, resulting in energy savings and a more pleasant interior ambiance. Climate Control: In hot climates, brick jalis can help mitigate the impact of solar heat gain by shading windows and walls. This reduces the need for air conditioning and helps maintain a more comfortable indoor temperature, leading to energy efficiency and lower cooling costs.
Durability: Brick jalis are typically durable and require minimal maintenance compared to other building materials. Properly constructed brick jalis can withstand harsh weather conditions and have a long lifespan, making them a sustainable choice for building design. Aesthetic Appeal: Brick jalis add visual interest and architectural character to buildings. They can be intricately designed, incorporating various patterns and motifs, contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal of the structure. Additionally, they can be customized to reflect the cultural and historical context of the region.

Rectangle shape building has many benefits efficient in terms of space utilization.no corners are wasted in this shape buildings they’re generally easier and more cost-effective to construct.
Facade:
Breathable mesh facade: This is a aluminum mesh which is having circular holes in it. this helps in passing diffused sunlight and even helps to circulate air. Prefabricated metal meshes provide certain qualities and flexibility that can work well in conjunction with glass. This helps to make the facade molded in different shapes. Metal meshes filter solar rays during the summer, generating shade and reducing the temperature of interiors. At the same time. in winter, their permeability allows the passage of the sun, lowering costs for heating.

Location: Naranpura, Ahmedabad, Gujurath, India.
Bud Concept: The “bud” concept, popularized by Ebenezer Howard in his Garden City movement, suggests the creation of self-contained communities with a balance of urban amenities and green spaces. In a redevelopment project, this could translate to designing or redesigning neighborhoods to include parks, gardens, and recreational areas within walking distance of residential areas. It aims to enhance residents’ quality of life by promoting health, well-being, and a connection to nature.
Neighborhood Unit Concept: Developed by Clarence Perry, the neighborhood unit concept emphasizes creating self-contained neighborhoods that fulfill residents’ daily needs within walking distance. This includes housing, schools, parks, and local businesses. Implementing this concept in a redevelopment project involves organizing the built environment into manageable units, fostering a sense of community, and promoting sustainable modes of transportation like walking and cycling.
