When choosing colors for hospital rooms, we should think about the wellbeing of patients but also their families and visitors. Light, neutral tones and cool colors are recommended for long-term wards, as they are harmonious and calming. This helps patients ease their spirits and prevents unnecessary agitation. Broken colors help create a calm and trouble-free atmosphere. Cool colors, such as blue and blueish green shades, promote tranquility and serenity.

Brand personality
Patients, visitors and even staff members may get lost in large hospitals. Using colors connected to the various areas of the hospital to mark routes and identify locations may offer directional anchor points. For example, different floor and wall colors can be used for each ward; this makes it easier to picture the different wings and sections of the building. Flooring is excellent for improving route marking and the identification of locations.
When you step into a new space, you notice the color first. This instantly leads to either a positive or a negative feeling about the environment, facility or brand – often unconsciously. Color design is a tool for creating a coherent and identifiable brand identity for the interior design that will reinforce, form or complement the brand message. Rich colors
Strong and warm
Rich and full colors and added contrasts enhance the perceptive skills of those with visual and cognitive impairments. Basic colors, such as blue, red, green, yellow, black and white are effective. Neutral and soft pastel colors should be avoided, as seniors may find them difficult to perceive. Dark floors may cause anxiety and confusion: a dark surface may look like a hole in the floor.
Strong and warm colors stimulate the brains of the elderly. Yellow and red tones are the most noticeable and stand out the most: for example, research has shown that the use of red colors has had positive and cheerful effects on patients in nursing homes. People remember colorful things better than black and white things; this suggests that color has a special role in human memory. Colors enrich and define memory traces; green has been found to have a particular effect on memory.
Light Good lighting is as important as light-colored floors and the use of contrasts. On average, older people need three times more light to be able to see as well as younger people. In addition, older people are more sensitive to glares. Good lighting helps patients in their everyday activities. At the same time, it is an important element in dementia-friendly design.

Happy day care years Colors are especially important to children: they may have a huge impact on their mentality. Bright colors, reds, oranges and yellows in particular, stimulate the brain and encourage play. Playing is one of the key learning methods for children of day care and preschool age. Research has shown that the best and happiest learning environments for children comprise the full spectrum of colors.
Childhood and teenage years “Fortunately, children aged 6–18 tend to prefer and love rich colors,” Jaana Beidler says, pleased. Bright Design studied the effect of colors on people. According to Beidler, children perform better in reading tests, for example, in environments with vivid colors. It has been shown that students make fewer calculating errors and spelling mistakes in red environments and the most in white environments.
Nature and greenery There has also been research into the effect of nature on children. According to research, children with ADHD showed fewer symptoms after they had spent time in nature or in an environment with plenty of green colors. According to certain color studies, exposure to the color green may improve students’ performance in creativity-related tasks.
