We're thrilled to welcome back local Aberdonian companies to our stage including Leading Lights' production of 'Made In Dagenham', Phoenix Youth Theatre will be warming up our panto muscles with their fantastic family extravaganza 'Cinderella' and Studio Theatre Group will be tickling your funny bone with their three handed 'Hound of The Baskervilles'. Also, we have some exciting local Dance from Maitland School of Dance's 'Spice of Life'.

The Polish Association's production of 'Lilies' takes to the stage as they bring this classic ballad to life and we have Rah Rah Theatre's thought provoking piece about human trafficking 'My Mind Is Free'. We also have Aberdeen University joining us in December for Sir Tony Robinson and Professor Paul Mealor’s ‘The Three Ships’ - a Christmas story which offers a unique interpretation of the traditional nativity, narrated by special guests.

In our Gallery Spaces we will be showcasing a selection of work from talented local artists and recent graduates of Gray's School of Art. We're kicking off our Autumn season by welcoming back 'Wannabe - The Spice Girl Show' after May's sold out performance.

We have some great music to suit every style and taste including Irish folk band 'The Kilkennys', traditional Portuguese music from Tribvto, a tribute to 'The Traveling Wilburys', Timeless Productions will be 'Rolling Back The Years' and come along for a honky-tonk hayride with Patsy Cline.

Our very own 'Jack & The Beanstalk' is set to be our most magical pantomime yet. In association with local theatre company 10 Feet Tall, we invite you and your family to join Jack, Mucklemoo and the rest of the gang as we climb to new heights and sing our hearts out all the way to the very top this Christmas.

Our volunteer base continues to grow, establishing a firm community for cultural delivery. Following successful productions, workshops and radio interviews, our Creative Learning Programme continues to deliver opportunities for performance and devising whilst building skills and confidence.

SATURDAY MORNING WORKSHOPS Our Saturday workshops are the perfect introduction for young people to engage with drama and performing in a relaxed and informal environment.

OUR TUTORS AND ASSISTANTS ARE ALL EXPERIENCED AND HOLD PVG CERTIFICATES.

These sessions are drop-in and anyone is welcome to join anytime. Come along on the day to the box office to register.

Classes run during school term-time but we do offer seasonal workshops during the holidays.

An energetic and fun class that nourishes and stretches the imagination.

The class focuses on developing many essential skills used in Drama such as teamwork, coordination and finding your voice.

Every week is a new adventure!

DRAMA CLASSES These classes further explore drama and theatre, there is a class for everyone whether you love drama or musical theatre and of course feel free to come along to both! All classes are open to anyone to join, with an open door policy there are no auditions but there will be some in-house casting for shows.

A fun and welcoming class that gives a platform for young people to express themselves and give their imaginations a great workout! Each term we focus on developing new drama and performance skills such as improvisation, devising, script work and film making. This class builds towards a small performance at the end of each term.

A fun and supportive class that aims to nourish and challenge a young actor’s skill set. This class focuses on developing essential performance skills each week, including voice/movement, improvisation, devising and text, with many opportunities to perform throughout the year.

CASTLEGATE THEATRE COMPANY (CTC) Age 8-17

Wednesday P4-S6 16:30PM – 19:30PM £100 per term (3 terms) Our youth theatre company focuses on performance skills through musical theatre including voice, drama and dance. They rotate in groups round the three disciplines honing each skill in order to bring all three together for performance.

They take part in different projects throughout the year and always work towards an annual show. Previous productions include Oliver! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and most recently Peter Pan.

All groups come together for a performance at Christmas and during the year may collaborate on specific projects.

FREE GALLERY EXHIBITIONS SEPT 3-29

SEPT 6-29

Come along to witness a new way of seeing the landscape - from an aerial perspective, right down to grass level. The paintings will focus on many themes ranging from segregation in society to a rebellion against "normal" landscape painting.

Kelsey Leigh Grant has just completed a course in HND Art & Design at the North East Scotland College in Aberdeen. This exhibition will show some of the pieces of work that she produced at college and also some new pieces that she has made since graduating.

The show is made up of two series of Harry Carr's work. Both bodies of work contrast dramatically by colour and texture, to create a unsettling atmosphere.

Motivational Tales / WEA The WEA in the North East offers a range of adult education groups and classes. Over the last year a group of volunteers were trained to visit classes and listen to the stories of learners. We have produced an exhibition of photographs and quotations of what the learners told us. We invite you to come and see what we found and to talk to the volunteers and learners who were involved.

URBEX / Samantha Cheevers Samantha Cheevers' work is influenced by urban exploration.

The documentation and photography she collects from the locations are the key elements to her paintings. The research she obtains helps to create a narrative that brings a surreal and peculiar atmosphere to her paintings. Cheevers uses various materials and techniques in her work ranging from watercolour pigments to laser cutting, creating depth and layers that mirror the aesthetic of the different environments she has explored.

Kelsey Leigh Grant enjoys working with different materials to create texture and pattern within her work.

Portal / Anna Tomsone Creating collages on mirror this exhibition explores sci-fi themes.

Inspired by physics, in particular the theory of relativity.

Aberdeen’s Leading Lights present the British musical, based on the movie, Made In Dagenham. Inspired by true events of 1968, the show tells the story of how female workers at Ford’s Dagenham plant had their pay grade dropped to ‘unskilled’.

Led by Rita O’Grady, the women take on the might of the Ford company in a gritty, funny and emotional tale of love, friendship and the importance of fighting for what you know is right.

Featuring five individual icons in their own right, this formidable team created an album that completely rocked the music industry and sold over five million copies worldwide 40 years ago. Nominated for best stage play by the Anti-Trafficking Foundation in 2016 and Amnesty Edinburgh Festival: Freedom of Expression Award 2017. MY MIND IS FREE is a powerful interpretation of the degradations of human trafficking. It tells the interlinked stories of four people trafficked to and within the UK and their horrifying tales of abuse, exploitation and enslavement. The production uses a mixture of imaginative physical theatre and highly skilled multi–role playing to portray this.

Lilies – performance based on popular Polish ballad by Adam Mickiewicz with the same title, kept in Shakespeare’s bloody tragedy style. It is a story about a murderess, who planted the eponymous lilies on her victim’s grave. As these blossoms are a well known symbol of innocence, she cannot cover her crime with them and breaks a natural scheme of things. Since then the main plot of crime and punishment will be placed in a world of supernatural powers and the justice will be brought from the grave.
