5A7: Demonstrate an informed understanding of issues relating to media, communication, audience and context through the delivery of solutions to brief led problems or clearly identified creative concerns. (Knowledge & Understanding - Critical Awareness) 10%
I shall demonstrate research into areas of Product and Packaging within Illustration, by exploring what the world has to offer in terms of illustrated giftware/ products which are most popular amongst gift buyers
5A8: Understand the potential and limitations of technologies and processes used in the production of illustration for 2d, 3d and/or 4d distribution. (Knowledge & Understanding - Research) 20%
I will look further into the Screen Print process, producing and testig a range of printed products/ outcomes, that are both 2d and 3d; this will include paper based products such as posters, and fabric based like t-shirts, bags, cusions. I shall also look into how ceramics are decorated with imagery and based on the cost of production, will add ceramics to my rage. (if affordable)
5B5: Analyse and critically evaluate the impact of social, cultural, technological and/or ethical concerns on the development of solutions to problems relevant to individual creative concerns. Cognitive Skills - Problem Analysis, Problem Solving) 20%
I could ensure that the products are affordable, so that they sell well and still work commercially – I can do this by using cheaper materials The products can also be made from recycled material which will add value and have less of an environmental impact. The illustrated products can be aimed at young adults – If I go with celebrity cats this is the main age group it will appeal to, as this is the typical age of the fan base.
