Welcome The city of Mt. Pulaski, the Mt. Pulaski School District, and Mt. Pulaski High School would like to welcome all the teams and fans to the 2017 Bill Rucks Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament. We hope you enjoy your tournament experience here at Mt. Pulaski High School. Mt. Pulaski High School would like to thank all the individuals and businesses that contributed to and supported this year’s event.
In Memory of Bill Rucks Bill Rucks began his 26-year career at the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium in 1976 as the boys basketball coach with a good friend and colleague, Ed Butkovich. Upon his retirement from teaching at Mt. Pulaski Grade School in 2009, he returned to be the high school boys basketball assistant coach in 2012. Bill held a life of passion, perseverance, and priorities. He loved basketball, proved to others that challenges in life wouldn’t stop him from moving forward, and developed a close bond with his teammates, colleagues, and members of the community. Bill passed away in July 2015 from health conditions. He has influenced the Mt. Pulaski community in so many ways and will forever be remembered for his dedication to Mt. Pulaski boys basketball.
