Akeem Chance, the young man whose entertainer’s sobriquet, “Preedy” now comes complete with valued accreditation for his musical wit, is one of Trinidad and Tobago’s gems. An entertainer in every sense of the word, the young Maloney Gardens, East Trinidad native began professionally contributing to the Caribbean’s music industry in 2011. A songwriter and vocalist, Chance has aptly taken up his place as a forerunner on the Soca music circuit, ambitiously forging the way as one of several new age artistes of the genre. Preedy’s love for music could be traced back to his preschool graduation and even before. He recalls performing Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” at the ceremony- certainly a mammoth task for a 5year-old. His passion for music would only grow from there and with the encouragement of close friends and family, Preedy slowly positioned himself in the music business in Trinidad and Tobago.

His songwriting ability was offered greater opportunity to blossom when he entered a competition hosted by Trinidad and Tobago production powerhouse, Precision Productions. Shortly thereafter, opportunities to deliver the lyrics to some of the best soca tracks of this era, presented itself. Chance has wrote and co-wrote a number of soca tracks since 2011, among them Machel Montano’s “Getting on Bad”, Patrice Roberts’ “Doh Rough Meh Up,” Jaiga’s “My Team” and Nailah Blackman’s “Workout,” which he collaboratively penned with several of his cohorts in the business. Preedy’s writing has even crossed Caribbean borders, having been delivered to Antigua’s Tian Winter and even Barbados’ Alison Hinds.

In 2014, Akeem Preedy Chance ventured into the realm of stage performance. He delivered a song called, “Wining Champion,” which essentially found favour with the masses in the Caribbean.

He followed up powerfully with a single called, “Away” in 2015. With an empowered feeling, the young entertainer pushed harder, working arduously and essentially releasing his first mixtape album that year ; It was called “Effortless.” Preedy’s thirst to deliver and his penchant to perfect the art form, inspired many young, up and coming acts within that time, generating a buzz for what would essentially erupt in Trinidad and Tobago.

One year later in 2016, the vibrant, young soca artiste would excite and thrill many. Songs like “Veteran”, Walk Out,” “Turn Up,” “Drums,” and “Unruly” proved that Preedy was serious about Soca and would stop at nothing to prove his worth in the industry. In 2016, he placed 2nd in the International Soca Monarch competition in Trinidad and Tobago with ‘Veteran”, a massive accomplishment for an artiste who was still relatively new to the scene.

One year later, he maintained his presence, returning to eager soca lovers with "Addicted", "On The Low" and "Heat in De Place."

In 2018 Preedy pushed the envelope, collaborating with Soul Train Award Winner, Bunji Garlin. The track, “Share It” was an anthem of sorts for the entire Carnival 2018 season, the pair performing together at several major events throughout the season. He also delivered, “Say Yeah” and” “Wining School.”

Akeem Preedy Chance is determined to show the world the versatility of Caribbean music. His desire for the genre is simply that it will continue to develop until it reaches the point of worldwide appreciation and certainly acclamation. He envisions Soca music's selfcategorization in globally recognized and accredited award events such as the Grammys and other major music awards.

Personally, the astute creative aspires to start an artiste management company while at the same time further establishing himself as a valuable asset in the music business. " I strive to become a powerhouse artiste; that type of artiste who enters a room and everyone acknowledges who I am," he says.

Soca music has catapulted Akeem Preedy Chance to unexpected stardom in Trinidad and Tobago. His hope is that the future of his career will include an international fanbase, a shot at a Grammy award or perhaps two, and certainly a catalogue of musical hits that surpasses all expectation. Overall, he aspires to be an influencer to the next generation of music aficionados around the worldsomething he keeps near to his heart.

Already off to a very good start, Preedy maintains a determined spirit. His natural talent in songwriting, performance and vocal execution, propels him, and with purpose, he is driven to be one of the best representations of Trinidad and Tobago's vast cultural industry.
