Snooker is a game played on a rectangular table with pockets at each corner and in the middle of the longer sides. The game is played with 22 balls, 15 red balls worth one point each, six coloured balls worth different points, and one white ball acting as the cue ball. The objective of the game is to score more points than your opponent by putting balls into the pockets.
The game of Snooker starts with a break-off shot, where the player with the white ball aims to hit a red ball first. If a red ball is potted, the player continues their turn by potting any colored ball, and then alternating between reds and colors until all reds are off the table.
In Brazil Snooker, players have the option to call a safety shot, where they intentionally play a shot that does not pot a ball and instead leaves the cue ball in a safe position. If the opponent cannot hit the object ball, they will have to play from where the cue ball landed, giving the player who played the safety shot an advantage.
In Canada Snooker, players can use a push-out rule. After the break-off shot, the player can choose to push the cue ball to a new position on the table without being penalized. It enables the player to plan their next shot and perhaps gain the upper hand on their rival.
