Anchoring a Community Structure

An integral feature of the design is the inclusion of a striking cable suspension structure that reaches toward the sky, evoking the shape of angel wings. This architectural element serves as a powerful symbol of protection, hope, and transcendence, providing a sense of safety and sanctuary to all who enter. The delicate yet strong design of the wings reflects the resilience and spirit of the Kherson community, gracefully merging functionality with profound meaning. This structure not only offers a visual landmark that inspires awe but also integrates with the building’s design, providing structural support and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The upward movement of the wings symbolizes a collective aspiration toward renewal and unity, while their protective span over the space below conveys a sense of shelter and care. By incorporating this feature, the project embodies the dual goals of commemorating the past and embracing a hopeful future, reinforcing the library and park as a sanctuary for healing, inspiration, and community connection.

Through Ulrich’s Theory of Supportive design, positive distractions will be implemented in the floor plan.

These satellite seating locations will provide social interaction locations for patients and staff.

Windows along all of the patient treatment rooms will allow for positive distractions during treatment sessions.

To enforce Ulrich’s idea of social interactions modular seating options will allow for easy rearrangement of therapy rooms.
