People are often nervous to ask others to change with face to face communication diminishing with the rise of technology. In terms of pet peeves this leads to people suffering on a daily basis, thinking it’s only a small annoyance until it’s too late. A solution that attempts to counter this issue is ‘The Pet Peeve Project’. This project harnesses the power of the letter, taking advantage of its beneficial qualities to encourage change. The rarity that surrounds each letter grabs the attention of the receiver as it arrives through the door, often causing surprise. The receiver may also acknowledge the effort taken to create the piece. The personal touches tailored to each person means the content resonates on a closer level than a generalised form of communication. The tangible qualities remain in the world longer than a digital message/e-mail may remain in an inbox.
